R2 is the same size in all of the films. They adjust the angle of the outer "ankles" slightly during ANH to help navigate within smaller sets. The overall scale is exactly the same among all of the films.

Great review, tinister.

I wholeheartedly agree that this set is extremely well done. I'd even go as far as to say it's the best SW Medicom has done.

But personally for me, the height difference between C3PO and R2, and with them and Sideshow figures (which is who I would pose them with) would bother me. If they were in scale with each other and with Sideshow figures, I wouldn't have even hesitated. They would be mine.

Like I've said, R2 isn't even in scale with himself. There is stuff about the dome that is clearly off.

They do look nice, though.

Thanks!

I can definitely understand the scale issue people have between Medi figures and other makers. I don't display may figures together much so it's not an issue for me.

This is an awesome set. Far from perfect - but I wanted people who are on the fence about them to know that at least for me the scale issue between R2 and 3-PO aren't as noticeable in hand as in the photos.

I personally don't think there is a figure out there by any maker that can be said to be perfect. "Perfect" doesn't exist. The best we can hope for is a figure that captures the spirit of the source. And these definitely capture the spirit of our beloved droids.

I've found over the years that this outlook allows me to enjoy collecting so much more.

Sorry, I know this thread is regarding the Medicom versions of the droids, but I was wondering what the status is on the premium format version? I searched the threads but could not come up with it. Does anyone know where I can find this thread, or know when we might see/hear some info regarding this statue(s)? Thanks!

I finally got one! Paid way too much for it $200 loose but it's in great condition and it was a birthday purchase so I splurged.

I wish I could find these guys for a good price, but I'll have to just wait and see what Sideshow gives us.

I know. I did sell my GG Kenner figures. Then UPS crushed the ____ing box and busted up the Stormtrooper. What can brown do for me? Not break my ____. :(

Ugh. That sucks! I still have my stormtrooper and Boba to sell. I may need to spring for a huge box since they don't know how to handle this stuff.

Oh don't worry, I had it insured. UPS is about to cut the buyer a check. It's all good. Just a hassle. Sell them before they re-release them on a Star Wars card. Which they have planned.

Yeah, I need to get on that quickly. Hopefully SDCC drummed up some interest in these. I think I also have a big and small head Han to sell.
