I wouldnt compare them. But to be honest its probably the most fun to pick up and play, and learn the controls. The story wont be thing of legend in 10 years time like mgs 1,2 & 3 but its not a story driven game.

If you're a fan of MGS games I would definitely get. If you ever played Bayonetta it's very very similar. They sprinkle in some MGS story but it's very forgettable. There is a lot of replay value in it, and DLC will be coming out to add hours to the game.
I think it's out April in Japan, or it may be global not sure.

So do you have to have the Gray Fox skin in order to use the Fox blade?

You need the Gray Fox code to even have the option of buying it, but getting all the upgrades for it will require a playthrough or two depending on how good you are. It's 200,000 BP just to buy it and on a normal playthrough I acquired a enough within two chapters. You need about a 1,000,000 BP to fully upgrade it but it's well worth the time.

thx for the info, i'll probably pass - i'm not a completest when it comes to games, I play for the fun and story mostly and then simply buy the figures I like based on the property to play with...

This might be one of those games in which the Platinum for me will be impossible. Monsoon is impossible to get a perfect with.

Mission 18 in VR was easier for me and I can't even believe I'm saying that since that was a ****ing nightmare and took 100's of retries.

I am still yet to go through all the VR Missions and will have to do Mission 18.
I believe if you finish all the VR Missions, you unlock a few items..?
Just finished it on Normal last night with all the upgrades.
Will have to run through Hard.
You get extra skins and I believe a weapon but I forget which.

What part does he usually gets you? i think the only thing to watch out foris is gas grenade attack. once he raises his arms hell throw a grenade. so start blocking so that the grenade explosion wont damage you.the last part where he throws a big pile of debris and tanks are blockable to plus it triggers a zandatsu sequence if i remember it correctlyIt makes mid level bosses look like full retards
