raiden voted no1 what the F#@k is wrong with the world.
Snake is king, raiden was the hickup that almost destroyer MGS2 wich was only saved by the snake mission at the start.

I mean't in all games involving Raiden. MGS2 was amazing... if you didn't get forced to play as that fairy. But I understand the reasoning for it due to breaking the fourth wall with the player.

MGS4 was a let down, and MGR looks terrible.

I'm not a gamer at all, but have always been enthralled with the look and design of the MGS world and characters. Raiden I cannot speak to his character beyond what you see in cut-scenes but I have always dug his look in all the games. I particularly like him in MGS4 due to the contrast of "pretty" and grotesque with his lower jaw missing being replaced by a metal one.

Hot Toys Community reported on their Facebook page, that the poll results for the Hot Toys MGS figures are now available. Since we don't have an official Hot Toys MGS thread anymore, I'll just post it in here.

By The People Vol. 15 Results :

Raiden (MGS 4) : 39%
Solid Snake (MGS 2) : 25%
Gray Fox : 17%
Raging Raven : 10%
Ocelot (MGS 4) : 9%

It's surprising that MGS 4 Raiden beat out MGS 2 Solid Snake. Snake is a given anyway. In any case, the poll shouldn't be taken seriously, as its only purpose was to build hype for the line. But, I'd much rather have a Rising version of Raiden instead of MGS 4 Raiden.

Yeah I was looking at that too. There's another smaller one which will work too. Just the door and steps. The shipping on these is through the roof though.

I don't believe that Hot Toys will do a MGS 4 Raiden figure when the Rising version of Raiden will have more relevance. His new look in Rising is pretty cool though.

I never put much weight in those polls they do. They never really seem to have much meaning. I'd be surprised as well if they did an MG24 Raiden instead of his Rising appearance.

That's true. The purpose of the poll, was most likely, just to build hype for MGS, and to indicate that Hot Toys has the license for all the games. The results are not to be taken seriously at all.

They've done quite a lot of these polls over the years and I'm not sure they have ever made any of the winners. In particular I do believe I remember the RE Alice poll being won by her look in the first film and they clearly never made that figure. I know there's been plenty of others but can't remember them off the top of my head.

I remember Lone Wolf previously mentioning a Sylvester Stallone poll, or something of that nature. Where there were multiple versions of Stallone from different movies, but Hot Toys hasn't even made a single figure from that poll as of yet.

I really hope this Raiden doesn't get produced right away. The results of that poll just how stupid MGS noobs are. Who probably were introduced to the series through MGS4 and are all for Raiden.

Well, Raiden's reception in Asia was always much more positive than it was in the U.S.. The poll was targeted primarily to Japanese readers, and even Chinese readers to some extent (who could understand the Kanji characters that were being used). Outside of Asia, the poll wasn't very well known. I think most people from non-Asian countries heard about it either from this forum, or the Hot Toys Community blog on Facebook. Our votes probably didn't count for anything much.

But, with that said, I'm still surprised that Raiden manged to beat out Snake. That's... pretty strange, even for Asia.
