Hey guys, I've been having a pretty rough time getting a hold of ThreeA's REX and was wondering if I could get your opinions on this situation.

I've had it preordered at this store since May 2012 and the owner has since kept avoiding me or telling me that it's coming, no real solid answer. First, it was supposed to arrive mid October, then December, early February and now I still haven't heard from him. I'm wondering if anyone has preordered the figure anywhere else and haven't gotten him either? Just asking because he tells me SideShow has been slow with getting shipments of the figure and I wanna know if this guy is telling the truth or if he's just wasting my time. I'm in Ontario, Canada and all the stores I normally buy from (Toys2, Urban Samurai) have all received theirs and sold out.

I didn't mind the wait but after seeing so many stores in Canada and the US sell out of them I'm getting kind of annoyed :/

He's most likely telling the truth. ThreeA has been enormously slow in shipping out the figure to retailers. Sideshow got the figures from ThreeA a short while ago, and they finally shipped my REX last week. But, since you ordered from a retailer who gets their stock from Sideshow, you're going to have a longer wait. It could be a few weeks to several months (in the worst case scenario). You may have to force yourself to exercise some patience. Just keep checking with the owner.

I ordered from a comic shop in Vancouver when it was announced that sideshow was distributing and still haven't heard a peep since. I think it's just a delayed thing...

Im tempted to get him, a big appeal is i hear he seems to be "bigger" than regular (whatever that means, i only have 1 figure) and he is still within price range on ebay

He is a bit taller than for example Big Boss in sneaking suit, but he is massive mainly because of his powered armour and that harness he is wearing. The harness can make him a bit top heavy but luckily you can try to balance him with those tentacles

My version doesn't seem to have any flaws as such and all the details and paintwork look really nice.

Anyone have contact information for Play Arts Kai customer support? Their website is less than helpful, and I want to contact them to see if they can just send me a replacement arm for my Solidus before I try to fix it on my own---and probably break it

Thx for the link redleo - good deal for buyers looking to pick up White Raiden for less than most eBay auctions - one went on eBay last night for $230 + 15 shipped ($245 dlvd, sold from Thailand). CRAZY!!

$180 for the figure shipped seems like not a half bad deal considering it'd be around $20-35 to ship; means you're paying $145 or so for the figure, which honestly is - I can't believe I'm saying this - not too terrible considering how hard this figure is to find...right now.

Something to consider - there were supposedly how many of the White Raiden figures made? Anyone know? Just wondering as I heard 25K...which seems WAY too high considering that'd make this easier to find than most other PAK figures (since they rarely make over 8-10K of the regularly released figures).

After months of waiting I finally got my MGS Rex! I love absolutely everything about it, it's great(but a pain in the *** to set up).

I have a couple of questions to anyone who owns one of these. Does the rail gun come off? On the instructions it says its removable but I'm having a hard time trying to pull it off.

The other thing, I'm trying to displaying him on a small table I have for him but his legs keep slipping, can he only stand on certain surfaces?

THat cat is so dead But seriously cool pic. I havent had a chance to actually "set mine up" anywhere but I had no problems when I was posing and testing mine out. If it does become an issue when Im set up, Ill likely slap something like a mouse pad/sticky on the bottoms of the feet.

Thanks mate, I ended up putting some foam pad on the table and he's standing up perfectly.

yup as soon as I opened the box he was sniffing around, but no way I was letting him near it

I heard it can but it seems to be tricky. I never installed mine so I cant say first hand. Im sure SnakePlissken could shed more light on this..

Picking up my Rex around 11 am today, if possible i am going to take some pictures of it today, if for some reason i cant ill post them in the near future. 11 AM can not come soon enough, do all UPS Customer Centers open at 11 AM? Just seems kinda odd to me since they start delivering at 8.

Yes. I've removed mine when I had to pack him back up. Follow the instructions in the manual. It requires quite a bit of force.
