Yeah, the figure was much lighter than what I was expecting. I don't mind though, especially if it was ThreeA's way of lowering the price and cutting down on shipping .
The one thing that I did notice, was that there is a long seam line running at the top of the railgun where the two plastic halves connect. Also, the seam on my railgun didn't connect all the way and there's a small, and noticeable gap
. It just cheapens the overall look of the figure, and I might have to fill it in with some putty. I also didn't like ThreeA's liberal and somewhat inconsistent approach of weathering the figure. The backpack of my REX is way too brown compared to the front. In MGS 1, Solid Snake never attacked REX from behind, the backpack would have been the one section on the mech that was most likely free of noticeable damage.
The green color that was chosen for the figure was not that bad. But, gunmetal gray would have been a better choice for the base color.
