Don't waste your time with that sculpt, it's nowhere near that nice in person. It's very flattened in-hand. Also cast in some strange, shiny resin. Not worth it IMO.

I just got my Solidus last week, what an impressive figure. So far the only ones I don't have are Miller and original colors Fox, but I'm going to repaint the other red ninja I have to match the classic colors.

Thanks Ryan!

Well, you could probably just take the Medicom body and add to it. It would require a lot of molded plates over it, the chest would be a nightmare since it has about 6 plates by itself :slap

Nah, I don't think I'm up to that. Besides, I'm not crazy enough to skin and strip a perfectly fine and ridiculously expensive Medicom to make a custom. I really wanna see someone who is though, like Elvis.

So are you getting Amnur's MGS2 head? Thought of the suit yet?

If it came painted I would get on board since I have 0 talent in painting. For a suit I would probably do what Jack D suggested and get a gray/blue jumpsuit. I could probably find a hardness that is similar enough on eBay. A M9, USP and a M4 would be easy to get.

I just opened my PAK MGS1 Snake.

A very cool figure overall! It brings me back to the days when I used to collect the McFarlane stuff.

Now all I need is Amnur's amazing headsculpt to replace the original!

A good base for a harness is the one that came with the HT John Connor final battle figure, I think it's still pretty easy to find. Blackopstoys may have one or two.

You forgot those boots!

For the boots I took the yamato boots, cut the foot portions out and replaced with the foot from the metal boss armor version. I still don't know if I'm completely happy, I have another option in mind I'm going to try.

It looks great, I just might try a different route.

Yep, Yamato's would be perfect since Snake just reused his equipment in MGS2 aside from the vest.

Oh wow I didn't noticed that! So what is that harness technically called?

I read that you've stitched the inner zipper of the Yamato suit, does that mean I have to cut off the zipper and stitch the suit back from the inside?

Is it hard to come by one where you are?

Well what I did was take two yamato suits and join two back halves together.

The harness Snake uses in MGS2 is called the SOMAV vest put out by (I believe) Eagle Industries in the late 80s-early to mid 90s, based on the Israeli tactical vests. These are hard to find in 1/6, the most recent example being the one that came with the HY Jack Krauser figure.

Aside from that, you can use a modified US LBV, which is widely available and is the type of vest the HT Connor one is.

The Yamato is fairly common on eBay, a bit overpriced if you ask me.

I agree, especially since there really aren't a whole lot of useable parts from it.

HOLY ******* I would LOVE to see also a tutorial on that repaint, kudos on Solidus, for me is the best PAK ever in the MGS line! I also missing original FOX and have the red one... interested in see that repaint and a how-to! (the little letters might be a pain!)

For anyone who is interested, Amazon has PAK Solidus for $88. You're welcome.
