I agree with frank, the sickness factor of the pak is what keeps me buying them. I love modding so fixing them is more fun for me. I cant wait to get into painting. After that i wont even care about all the stuff people are complaining about. I feel for the people though that just wanna collect them. They dont look at these as i do. I think of a hobby from a hobby and they think i/they wasted monies.

They didn't go for in game accuracy, they wanted Snake to look more like this

And you can pose the figure like that and it will look like Yoji's artwork, most of the time :lol it really depends on you. Some people think this figure looks just like that, others don't.

I dont see it

shinkawa art is so hard to make out the faces. if we were going by body and stance the pak has it. im not being a pak fanboy. looks the same to me. the pouch i have no say in, the ****ed liquid with that thing too. ill be cutting them out when im ready to do some painting.

Yeah I know what they were aiming for they just didn't pull it off that well

Like I said they aren't terrible, but I don't even have the original solid snake head on so that states my opinion of it

The best ones are solidus and grey fox, but they even took liberties there

I just don't have the guts to repaint my PAK figures, I'm thinking of having someone cast the heads for me so I can paint those. Amnur's PAK Solid head is pretty cool, but I love SQEX's sculpt. It's just the paint that needs adjusting. I can't just repaint on either, like Zelu, you need to repaint them all so they match. One of my Solid's looks great, the other is OK, I'm concerned about Liquid.. Figure if he's bad that will be the catalyst to repaint.

PAK Liquid Snake is suffering from FOXDIE, jeeze! ;)

The giant pouch on Liquid bothers me more than the rolled up sleeve. It's like one of those silly things people wore in the 80s and 90s. *shudder*

If it looked like that i would have got one but it looks nothing like the pic.

On Ground Zeroes Boss being $100, I seriously think that's a typo or something. There's just no way Square could think he's worth at much. The new PAK Assassin's Creed figures are around $90, but they're probably around MGS scale I think (Ezio is around PW Boss's size) and have a lot of accessories, plus superior paint jobs. They're worth more than GZ Boss, who comes with so much less. I mean yeah, some PAKs like Man of Steel Superman are not worth their price tags at all but I think they're meant to be in the same price range as the figures in their line in some cases.

I understood Solidus being $120, kinda but GZ Boss has no business in that price range.

Are you serious Solidus?

I'm contemplating of quitting PAKs myself, maybe just MGS2 Raiden and that's about it. I'm getting tired of PAK/Konami not giving us what we want and the ever increasing prices. I fear one day PAKs will become irrelevant the way McFarlane is today. Yikes.

I'm out! :lol The PAK figures have more than doubled in price compared to how they were selling back in 2010. I remember when I bought Sneaking Suit and Jungle Fatigues Big Boss for $39 each.

I'd rather keep the $100 and use it towards a Hot Toys figure instead. Or, better yet, save it for a payment for ThreeA's MG RAY.

Wow! Just like that, eh?

I guess I'm coming out and say I quit too, I was hesitant to say that out loud because a lot of my close friends here or outside SSF are PAK fanatics, but at this rate I'd rather give my money to Hot Toys. I mean, I still have a truck load of HT figures I need to get in addition to what's coming out this year. On top of my head are:

DX10
DX13
DX08
Robocop
Batman Returns/Arkham City (scoff!)
Gecco Heather
SS Snake Plissken
SS Nathan Drake
IDM Snake
3A Rex/Ray

So yeah, I guess unless Square Enix does something truly phenomenal, I'm done with PAKs. :wave

Well, just to clarify, I'm not saying that the PAK figures aren't worth 80 to 100 dollars. They will be to a lot of people, and I'm sure that our friends like Plis and Jason will be adding all of those new stuff to their collections. But, unfortunately, I just don't have as many bones to spend. It's just a matter of personal preference, I guess, and I'd much rather allocate my very limited funds towards a few high-end collectibles, instead.

By the way, the DX13 is practically the best T2 figure ever released. I have it posed with my DX10... I'll take some pictures of it later :monkey3

Exactly. It's nothing against PAKs at all, they're super cool figures in my opinion. I think it's just both of us don't wanna upset people and coming off as if we're saying they are a waste of money. They're not.

Also, PAKs costs about 1/2 to 3/4 of Hot Toys figures here where I live, and for the price of Liquid and MGS2 Riaden, I could get a DX13 AND have change for gas and a bag of chips.

I've been hearing rave comments on the DX13 and on how it outclasses the DX10 in every way. If you ever snap some pics, let me know. Also, what are your wish list for 2014, Solidus? Are you getting Robocop?

Well, the only things I have on pre-order right now are ThreeA MG RAY and the Plissken figure from Sideshow. It's so strange, I haven't had a single Hot Toys figure on pre-order for months.

I wasn't ever a huge fan of Robocop, but I liked the movies when I was a kid. I might buy it later, once I make up my mind about it.

I'll see if I can take some pics tomorrow of my DX10 and DX13. Shoot me a PM if I forget :lol.

More and more I think about it, I might lay off any PAK variants. The Metallica version of Big Boss just looks like the same turd, only polished.
