I'm out! :lol The PAK figures have more than doubled in price compared to how they were selling back in 2010. I remember when I bought Sneaking Suit and Jungle Fatigues Big Boss for $39 each.

I'd rather keep the $100 and use it towards a Hot Toys figure instead. Or, better yet, save it for a payment for ThreeA's MG RAY.
Ahhh PAKs around $39-50 Price range. those were the days!.... :lol
Recent pricings are catching up to some of my preordered 1/6 items (like SS Clone troopers/Droids) but not in terms of quality.. *Sigh If i wasnt such an MGS nut i wouldn't get them with that price.ill just spend it on a decent 1/6 figure as you guys have said!

I'm buying them all seeing i have them all. No sense in stopping now unless I'm selling. I'm not happy about the increase but I'm sucking it up for now unless they get much higher. I'm glad I'm not really delving into other avenues and sticking with mgs, it makes it way easier to afford things. If i collected hot toys enterbay or ss I'd be ****ed!!!

How much do PAKs retail for in the Philippines? Can't be too far off from the south east Asia's pricing, can it?

The pricing is a joke but if you want MGS collectibles you gotta suck it up

Seems like that's the be all and end all for now. I certainly don't want no MGS collectibles or the only ones i have to be like the mcfarlene stuff or just the high end mech stuff

A surprise to see that 3 of you decided to jump ship from PAK. Personally, I am not really "sucking it up" as they are still overall acceptable to me plus I don't collect much and comparing to how HT are pricing their "collectibles" the price tag of $83 (the BB PO price here) seems bearable ...for now (at least for another 4-6 characters that I wish to have).

I'm surprised too. What a coinky dink that Solidus and I decide to call it quits for now, and Plissken contemplated on quitting the variants.

You're not "sucking it up", bangkok_wolf. Nobody is. In fact, your PAK displays are some of the nicest I've ever seen. You should be proud.

Btw, how is the general Hot Toys pricing in Thailand? As I mentioned earlier, the prices of HT figures in Singapore and Malaysia are just slightly more than a PAK figure. Does that apply to Thailand too?

I'm not pre-ordering anymore PAK, especially through amiami or whatever the damn name is.
Got stung £30 customs tax for Liquid and Raiden.
Mostly had a meh taste in my mouth when putting them together.

Yeah i dont think there's a huge difference....I just buy from local retailers so id say its about 5-10% more than the actual release price of the item... it can go up to 20% more depending on the shop.

Thanks mate, I really appreciate it. :hi5:

for HT pricing... some say they are the best in the world markets, but I don't really know nor care as all HT and SS figures are sold by one and only official dealer anyway so why bother. Comparing it to PAK... an example would be like getting 2 GZ BB + $30 = Elder Predator (which is $196.xx here / SS has elder for $224.99).

for PAKs retail, most likely if you didn't preorder them you probably won't get them (except for mgs2 raiden, as they are way over supply as shops expect them to sell well like Rising raiden)

Yeah, I gave it some thought and i am done. $100 is too much for thes. MGS2 and 4 Snake will be the only others they might get me with.

I'd like to see how many of you actually buy the figure in a couple of months time

for me it will all depend on if the game is good enough. I never bought any PW figures because i didn't like the game

So my local comic shop has the MGR:R plasma lamp for $75. Do you guys think that's a decent price? I'm tempted and today is my birthday so I could justify buying it.

yeah I normally wait till it goes on sale. It's not a figure but like the Metal gear revengeance collectors edition retailed for $120 when it first came out. I bought mine last black Friday for $49.99 on amazon.

I'll probably stick with the main MGS PAK line, unless variants come cheap or it's something Solid Snake related.

Indeed. I myself can't wait for GZ and time will tell if I'd rush out to get the figure. At least with the PW figures they had amazingly accurate headsculpts.

At that price, I'd definitely get it. The lamp just as electrifying as the game is. (no pun intended).

Yeah I'm in for anything Solid related, which to be fair is only 2 figures

If i enjoy MGSV I'll most definitely pick up BB and maybe other supporting characters if they don't look too turd

I'm more interested in the previous games figures though to be honest, there's still so much more than can be done with MGS1, 2 and not forgetting 3 which hasn't seen anything yet

which is the most frustrating thing about the PAK MGS line.

They made great, ACCURATE hs' for the PW line, probably the weakest game in the series so we know they can and have done in the past

But they refuse to do anything remotely accurate - even for the newest installments that aren't even out yet!
