Just curious though, what compels people to buy the "Special Edition" versions like this figure? It's something that never really clicked with me as I always prefer the regular versions (unless it's a marked improvement over the original, of course).

I liked the Metallic version, but for the prices listed, no way in hell would I buy it.

My mind has decided that I must collect all the PAKs. That's the only reason. Honestly the bronze is hideous, but since I've decided to be a completist about it, I have to get it.

As for other variants, there have been quite a few that were pretty nice. Blue and White raidens were much better colors in my opinion. Shiny Big Boss was better looking as was the Premium Package battle dress. I also like the Red Ninja way more than the regular ninja.

Im hoping the bronze looks better in hand. Its the first one out of them all i wasnt very keen on. Not sure what kojima is doing. I wonder what the whole bronze thing is all about, i mean what is the significance to the game? Maybe theyll be a huge statue of him somewhere in the game.........maybe im reaching. I wish hed release a proto version of each, imo its the best way these things look.

Eight!? Damn. I'm surprised to say that as much as I love Big Boss I only own ONE PAK figure of the guy (Jungle Fatigues ver. specifically).

Looks good so far (well as good as an average MGS PAK can get anyway). Glad we're getting an alt. head at least. I would hope that with all the hype surrounding MGSV recently that we'll finally get an Ocelot. Would have preferred either Major Ocelot or Liquid Ocelot (since I felt those were his highlights as a character), but considering how he seems to have a pretty substantial role in MGSV, I wouldn't mind the new version either.

The mgsv Ocelot looks even more plain than BB (both with & without jacket) to me. Major Ocelot would kick ass but that's still in a far far away future if there's one.

They were milking PW wayyyyy too much for a portable game, but it could have been worse (naked, suit, fox tshirt [edit: these 3 would have been perfect for swapping in Solid HS] ). I've got 3 PAK and non of them are Biggu Bossu. But I can totally see myself owning 3 showing how BB's appearance has changed in 20 years span.

If we are to get an Ocelot the best version is the MGS2 one. With MGS1 as a close second. I dont like TTP Ocelot simply cause he has some other dudes face.

They couldn't just keep GZ/TPP Big Boss's face as a younger version of the MGS4 version, and Ocelot needed a change... for no complete reason aside from fixing **** that isn't broken. Regardless of Troy Baker's acting chops, he isn't needed.

Troy is awesome, but there was no need to recast Zimmerman, anyone who's heard him act will know that he can easily make his voice sound younger. Heck, Ocelot didn't even need to recasted even in MGS3. Zimmerman is that good.

Josh Keaton was perfect in MGS3, but at this point in the story Ocelot should start having that Zimmerman smooth as silk purr.

Yeah, and his performance in MPO was kinda transitioning towards the Zimmerman way. I wonder if that will the case in TPP. I guess it all depends on how Ocelot is written I guess.

@J3D1_KN1GHT, awesome custom figures you got there - will you be painting the old BB head by yourself?
@rampagesss, what backdrop you are using for the display, my black polypropylene sheet is reflecting everything a bit too much.

Not anything new, but I've changed Snake's tiger stripe to an OD bdu (HT platoon) and reorganized the display a little.
Finally found a place for kubricks to be displayed without them sticking out like a sore thumb.

Believe or not, painting walls and figures are equally exhausting and time consuming, despite the scale.

Don't worry about it, all those just takes practice, not God given talents. Two coats of paint and ALWAYS start from the middle of a wall. I shudder when I see people starting from the left or right end of wall, it's a waste of energy and paint.
