Yeah but that's what I'm saying, the SRP of a 1/6th figure is $90 up. A Kubrick on the other hand, goes for what, 600 ~ 900 yen? It's the fans that dictate the ridiculous price tags, not Medicom. So if anyone deserves chastising, it's the collectors and not the manufacturer nor the product.
As far as Medicom is concerned, they deserve all the flack they get for how they've squandered the RAH line
but as far as Kubricks are concerned, they've delivered through and through.
I can't really say that Kubricks are an acquired taste; I liked them off the bat. And they were successful enough to warrant tons of rip-offs i.e. Minimates, etc.
So to some people (including myself), $100 is reasonable for a "Lego" man. And to some people, it's reasonable to shell out ridiculous amounts of money for Legos i.e. the first Star Destroyer.
Look at old comic books. How are you going to justify prices of hundreds of thousands of dollars when those sold for 30 cents on cheap news print?
And weren't you lamenting the fact that your RAH's had dropped in value? My MGS Kubricks are probably the only toys I have that have
appreciated.
What's wrong with Barbie?
