masa masa masa! Feel free to treat me to one of your Solidus Sword converts :p

A quick bash I did a couple of days ago. I picked up the hs, stand, & harness at MD & raided my parts bin for the outfit & gear.

This is nice, reminds me of Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy.

Obviously far from perfect, but its what i wanted from the figure originally. There is solid hair on either side of the head so the visor is as tight fitting as i can get it without having to hack away some of the head or spend a good amount of time sanding. But even then, the visor size and location of where the swing arm would be means you have to compromise where you put it. As if you were to place it where the swing arm would be it would not cover his face if it was to actually close. So i opted to put them a bit higher so it looks like they would actually meet where they are supposed to.

the gap is a bit wider beween the hair and the visor halfs due to curvature so im going to insert a fake swing arm between the visor and the hair (none functional) just to fill in the gap. And trim down his left wing.

The idea is awesome. Imo they are a little too high. the bottoms of the visor halfs are with the jaw line. Kinda looks like ears to me. heres a picture reference. i actually saw them moving from his jaw up to his eyes, not horizontally or diagonally downward.

Ive had them all over the head and used reference pictures ect but the visor is longer and thinner than in the game where its in half its kinda tall and fat so i just had to make the best of the situation. Theres also the shape of the hair i have to work with considering thats where the visor was stuck to. 1 mm up or down and the entire visor half might be slanted to an angle i cant make match on the other side. But i am considering making a pair of ones from scratch so im not restrained by what we were given. But anyway theres this

that pic is really cool and makkes the visor look 10x better. you could keep the shape but trim them down to the smaller ones like the picture. theyll never move anyhow.

Just whipped these up from scratch in a few minutes. I like them much better. I just wanted to hold on to the visor that came with it as it had all the indentations and such. But i still wouldnt of been able to use the visor again even if i hadnt cut it up as i couldnt plug it in as i wanted to give him proper hair. Anywayyy this is likely it as far as adding his side visors will go. Ive improved the head enough from stock to be satisfied without lamenting over little things i can alter. Id rather put my efforts in to giving him an electrical effect to his HF blade or something.

The first picture shows how big the size of the visors are as the 2nd and 3rd pictures look odd due to angles)

I wish these things didnt cost money because id so love to just experiment on other aspects of altering the figures. Would still love a Desperado... There was a broke one for £25 posted a few months ago i wish id gotten now. It only had a glued elbow and thats why it was "broke"

I gotta say that hair modification does looks more like it does in-game. You get a nicer look at the face too...kinda makes me wanna get my first ever Play Arts figure as well actually.

You did an excellent job Kiva. Looks so much more fluid, dynamic and game accurate that way. I don't care for the pretty boy hairstyle they molded him.

They did a great job on the sculpt. Still haven't picked it up as my funds are very tight and this Raiden isn't my favorite version. MGS2 however....is going to be mine.

You really should atleast experience the figure. Ive only ever had Raiden play Arts but weve dealt a few times in the past ( you even bought a copy of rising off me!) So i think it would be one of thoes figures you would proudly display with your games.

I gotta admit, if it wasnt my figure (and i dont mean to toot my own horn) id be jealous of it. Im such a rising fan. And this is what i wanted.

I am weighing up the possibility of re-buying a 4th White Raiden. And if i do that means i would make Muramasa. That way i have side visor head, clean head and full visor head. 2 swords and two bodies. I could mix and match all i wanted. And Aside from using the MGS4 Raiden skin my 2nd most used skin is the White Raiden

Are they even going to put all the region skins up on the PSN/Xbox Live? I want to play as White Raiden already.

They should release MGR Gold with all the skins and DLC's added. Is there a PS move/kinect function for the blade mode?

I honestly don't know about the move. Maybe later in the year will get some repackaged milking re-release, but I'll gladly buy it since MGR kicks ***.
