Great video, and a great tribute to the greatest game of all time.

Game Informer - Are you lost? OLD NEWS

Still pisses me off that they got rid of Hayter so they could hire an A-List actor who had very little dialogue. Not to mention the guy has been with the franchise for like a decade, and gave up pay to allow for the Twin Snakes Remake. To not even get a call from the man himself is just mind boggling, **** move Kojima.

As a creator you certainly have some degree of control and ownership, but you have to realize that when you create something to share and enjoy with others that it becomes theirs too and they have a vested interest in said creation. Maybe George Lucas and Kojima can team up for a new IP, anyone down for that???

I just finished the whole video, SUPERBLY edited and a HUGE breath of fresh air over being forced to watch those Yong interviews (since he's one of the rare guys who could contact these actors).

It's very professional and well structured unlike Yongs' who will often ask redundant and utterly ego stroking questions that confounds the actors- "Do you think Snake knows about the secret genetic experiments over Mt. Wombo, as described in the MGS bible, verse 27?" "Hey, I'm a theater actor". That moron just LOVES to interrupt and confuse the actors.

I'm watching that now.

Yong is like those annoying Star Trek fans, that show up at conventions, to ask the actors random questions about shows they've long since left behind and couldn't care about anymore. Aside from David Hayter, all of the voice-actors just wanted to do their work, collect their paychecks, and move on with their lives. They don't stay awake at night thinking about MGS V like Yong does.

David Hayter was right to crap on "V" the way he did. He still hasn't played the game as yet, nor does he have any plans to do it. I've got nothing against Kiefer, but he was an awkward casting choice that should've never happened in the first place. Not in a million years.

I think it came the point where Kojima didn't have any passion for MGS anymore, aside from getting him name-recognition with Hollywood. That said, David Hayter isn't well-known outside of MGS, so I don't think Kojima saw any use in keeping him around.

I don't think I have ever made it through on of Youngs videos. They are barely insightful and mostly just fangirl gushing that's embarrassing.

"I had to re-audition for Metal Gear 3 to play Naked Snake," Hayter said. "They made me re-audition to play Old Snake, and the whole time, they were trying to find somebody else to do it. I heard that Kojima asked one of the producers on Metal Gear 3 to ask Kurt Russell if he would take over for that game. He didn't want to do it."

So Kojima has been trying to recast Big Boss/Snake since MGS3.

Well Big Boss didn't have a voice actor prior to MGS3 so it wouldn't be recasting. John Cygan should have voiced Big Boss in MGS3 for the sake on continuity. I also understand making him audition again for MGS4 to prove he can pull off an older voice for Snake which a lot of fans felt sounded very unnatural.

He didn't have to audition for MGS2 and PW which proves there wasn't a personal vendetta against the guy.

Judging by Hayters latest comments about their being friction between the two for years, and Hayter never wanting to work with Kojima again i think theres more to it than Hayters voice acting talents

Really? I don't, I mean the guy played the role for almost 20 years, and according to him he only met Kojima like once throughout. All the other voice actors have nothing but great things to say about Kojima, so does Kris Zimmerman. I think it was just a choice Kojima felt was better for MGSV, nothing personal.

But Akio sticking around playing every Snake... makes sense? :dunno

Continuity wise that makes sense, I don't speak Japanese but supposedly the man has a lot of range.

They're genuinely painful to watch. I remember him and his co-hosts keep insisting how James Horan (Skullface) was hiding something, teasing, keeping secrets and so on and so forth when he genuinely just didn't remember what his role was, let alone his lines. The dude's an actor, what are these morons expecting?

He also consistently pesters his guests (who've mostly appeared in one or two MGS games) if they keep up with the lore, such as asking Tasia Valenza (Sniper Wolf) if she thinks Wolf will appear with Big Boss in MGSV. She doesn't even know what a Big Boss is, why is he doing this? :slap

I think Solidus showed me some of his stuff, good lord it was bad...uggh.

Don't know the guy, but this stupid line of fan fiction that all the Facebook scrubs went with is all I need to know about this ******. Why would she be? She didn't meet Big Venom Bawse until the 90s.

Did she met Venom or the real BB? I'm confused now.

The "biggest plot hole" that needed to be filled... which I never remember reading anyone asking for... which only causes more plot holes.

I just took it in stride as limited writing since it's an late 80s game after all. It didn't require an entire game devoted to it.

Presumably, whenever the characters in MGS1 and 2 were referencing BB, it would probably refer to:

-Ocelot talking about the real BB since he knew both.

-Liquid unknowingly was referring to Venom since he (never?) met the real BB. But then again, which BB was the one who called him "inferior"?

-Since Solid was trained by Miller, that naturally means that the BB that trained him was 100% Venom, NOT BB.

-Wolf might have met either Bosses.

-Mantis knew of the decoy since he could read minds.. but why didn't he told Liquid? Even in MGS1?

Also, how did BB formed FOXHOUND when his decoy was clearly operating Diamond Dogs? Wouldn't someone eventually put tow and two together?

This series is s cluster***! :gah:
