I don't think you gave Witcher 3 the time of day, to begin with :lol. It's a fantastic game, worth the hundreds of hours, unlike MGS V, in which the rewards for all of your hard work are a half-assed ending, cut content and character arcs that go nowhere. I still can't get over the fact that they deleted the ENTIRE "Lord of the Flies" chapter.

In Witcher 3, your decisions heavily influence the outcome of the side-stories, and even the ending to some extent. I think there are about 34 different endings, alone. I've only seen one.

The VA work is some of the most organic in recent videogames, right up there with TLOU.

& playing 5 hours of the witcher is like playing the first lift section in MGS1 before you go up to the helipad :lol

The dream intro, playing your first Gwent game at the inn, meeting up with Yennefer, the Devil in the Well sidequest, visiting Emhyr and finding out about Ciri. There's SO MUCH going on in the first several hours. I really thought it was the perfect set-up to this already massive game.

I love the VA work, too. Even when you have to choose the reactions from the prompts, it sounded so natural.

I have to really get back into The Witcher over the summer, but that introduction was phenomenal. I adored every second of it. I do wish I put more time into it though, compared to MGS V >.> I might need some external sources to figure things out like side quests and so on but it feels great and that overlord is mesmerizing.

Do missions in the Witcher have continuous loading/intros/outros like the "Directed by Hideo Kojma" etc? When I want to play an open world game, I want it to be seamless. And preferably not having credits "starring: fictional characters", makes me feel like watching porn. :slap

Cd Projekt Red approach to making games is the best in many years, the standard copy of the game came with physical items and a thank you note for purchasing the game which really goes a long way.

When you watch the end credits you will be amazed that the game was fully localized/voice acted in like 8 langauges which is crazy. The voice acting, scripting, character development, are amazing and right along there with the Last Of Us. I completed everything the game has to offer including every little checkmark which may sound crazy but I did it not as a completionist but because the game is that beautiful and spending the time didn't feel like a waste.

Helpful tips: Romance Triss or Yennefer but do not try both, let Ciri be independent and try to build her up.

I played enough to know I hated it :lol

I won't try and compare anything here to MGSV because I know that'll just cause people to start bitching, so I'll judge Witcher 3 on its own.

From what I played, I thought the voice acting wasn't very good, mainly from the guy who voices Geralt. Sounded like a poor mans Solid Snake. I understand he's supposed to sound monotone and not have much personality but I just couldn't take it :lol

From what I understand that's the best thing about Witcher 3, how your decisions have a big impact on the world and story, thats cool and I tend to love games like that but I found all the quests I played to be really boring and formulaic, the gameplay to be absolutely generic, the animations were horrible etc... Game just wasn't for me. If you can, please link me one of the better quests in the game, I'd love to see one, but I can only talk about my experience. I put in about 10 hours if I remember correctly, and to me that's more than enough to time to know whether I think a game is good or not.

Also, Mission 51 wasn't scrapped due to timing or anything, it wasn't meant to be in the game in the first place, at least that's what that guy who is on Hideotube with Kojima said in an interview.

I won't try to convince you otherwise. But, I honestly think you either didn't play Witcher 3 like you were supposed to (understanding the item menus, and figuring out progression of the quests), or you just didn't bother with it to begin with. There are tons of quests you can check on YouTube if you want, but I still believe the game's worth a playthrough if you ever get back to it. The Bloody Barron quest, and the quests involving the Swamp section are still some of my favorites. I think the only other person on SSF who really hated Witcher 3 was Kit Fisto, but we all had a good laugh at him. Just saying, there's a reason why this game walked away with as many awards as it did.

I think Geralt's VA still sounded very good. I can at least appreciate that one of the better parts of MGS (Hayter's voice acting) was getting some recognition.

I think I played Wither 3 exactly the right way, which is how I wanted to :lol

I believe I did the Bloody Baron mission, I just found that mission to be extremely meh. Is that the mission where you fight that guys dead child resurrected as that demon?

With so many great games coming out I doubt I'll ever give it another try. I'm looking forward to Ratchet and Clank this week, the next Hitman episode and Uncharted 4 will probably have my attention for the rest of the year.

I put in a few hours into THe White Orchard too, so maybe you're right Doctor :lol

I'm pumped for Ratchet and Clank soon and Star Fox Zero later...then comes the big one, Uncharted 4 :lecture but I know come the summer, I'm going to The Witcher. Definitely. The witcher didn't really come off as formularic or generic, but that's just me.

Well he is essentially a hunter of monsters. It's not like your gonna get a mission in Hit man to perform CPR on your target.

Essentially yeah, you'll get a ton of contracts to take out beasts, but nothing really seemed formulaic. That's just me though. I played it, like MGS, due to the appeal of open world. After dropping about 120 hours, I read all books and played through 1 and 2, gonna start 3 again when new DLC hits.

I think he is by definition a hunter of monsters, yeah.

There was some open ended aspect to some contracts though, from what I saw.

It's pretty crazy to think Ratchet and Clank is only 40 bucks, and with Amazon prime it comes out to about 30 bucks. It's also getting great reviews so I'm certainly excited for it, been playing Ratchet since release.

Makes me worry about the length since Into the Nexus was $40 or so (probably less) and was over before I knew it. But the reviews have pushed that worry aside, otherwise it should be awesome.
