I was worried about the same thing but Insomniac said the price is in honor of the first game, and that this is a real full blown Ratchet and Clank. Supposedly its around 8-10 hours

Been taking breaks and playing PP for short binges and have only gotten to the 35th mission....and now no matter how long apart I spread the gaming and stuff; it's too ****ing boring.

I would play the older ones, but I feel I should finish this at least so I can feel I get my money's worth.

I definitely doubted a few of you lol. I thought I'd actually be able to enjoy this. :lol

Since I've gotten the platinum trophies for all MGS games, I was really trepedatious on whether I should get this one as well. I finally did, but it was such a laborious chore that I swore off this game forever.

Being a huge MGS nut, I can say that this game is nowhere near worthy of the MGS name. Remember in MGS2 where ice cubes would melt? Bottles break? Leaves on pots would tear? Bugs would stick on your clothing? And the countless of other little touches that made the game felt like it was really alive? None of those details were present here. I was constantly aware that I was playing a videogame, an absolutely boring one at that. While it certainly has plenty of good ideas, but overall this was such a step backwards for the series.

You can enjoy the gameplay at times, because the problem is you are doing the same thing over and over usually. And it's not like with other stealth games-it can really boil to the exact same thing. But it doesn't feel satisfying to do things that felt great in the other games. And it takes FOREVER to do so many mundane things! to travel across the map, to get new equipment, etc.

Not just MSG2 felt alive, but MGS 3. The blades of grass that react to everything, things like using hornets to mess with enemies and the vultures that would eat the corpses of dead enemies...and for the record, there's nothing wrong with playing a video game that feels like a video game instead of a movie or something else. But you can tell MGS V is riddled with problems and is only so known because of the hilarious PR stunts, the Metal Gear name, and the hype surrounding it due to being the final title. I don't trust the reviews at this point, so many of them were paid and had that boot camp ****, get the hell out!

Perhaps my biggest problem is how this game embellishes everything wrong with modern AAA titles, and how people refuse to believe it's not a master piece. Everything has its flaws, that is a fact. You can't act like this game, of all Metal Gears, is flawless.

MGSV makes me respect Syphon filter which came 18 years ago all the more. Apart from not being able to crawl like in MGSV, syphon filter was basically the exact same gameplay. But Syphon Filters environments felt alive and they were all unique and had their own music and enemies.

You know, I definitely see the comparison. Stealth in V felt so redundant, and it just felt easier to kill everything that moves since it didn't feel rewarding at all to stealth everything.

If they can do something similar to the PSP games, I'd go for that. I wanna check out the PS1 games sometime

"MGS V is the greatest single player game ever."

"I don't blame him. ****onami. They are more interesting in making pachinko machines then video games."

Stand with Kojima twats.

These guys get it. "That's not how you spell Witcher 3" "Well I am done with Kojima after the last few Metal Gear games have stunk.
Phantom Pain was the last straw it is was VERY BAD." 'It was long and boring... the missions just repeated themselves..."

After beating Uncharted 4, it's undisputed proof at how it had MGSV beat, beaten to a bloody pulp. Broken, bloodied, humiliated, puking egg benedict. Heck, Arkham Knight was already a superior game than V.

Not the biggest fan of how AK turned out, but it's still rock solid and way more coherent than what went on in V.

Me neither, but I think I've slowly forgiven the flaws. I don't think I'll ever see V in a more positive light, regardless of long time will pass. A bag of dog poop is still a rotten bag of dog poop in 5 years.

I played the hell out of both, but AK never felt like chore. I haven't played MGSV since November, but here and there I go back to AK. I might start a new game over the summer at some point.

NG+ is damn hard with no counter icons, but a great challenge. IMO the Season of Infamy DLC definitely made the game felt "complete" now. I got the plat, but I'm eager to go back and play it all over again someday. I won't do another round of V even if you put a gun to my head, never ever again. Ever.

The multiplayer was also pretty mediocre, after two hours Solidus and I literally ran out of fun things to do.

**** I knew I forgot to do something in AK. I still have yet to play Season of Infamy :slap. After my U4 playthrough, I'm going back to AK to finish everything off.
