Move to MGS2, have Colonel AI talk with Raiden about a new car...and watch as people wonder if or if not it's the real colonel :lecture

I just saw another one of these ads, with Psycho Mantis.

The first one was cute, but Jesus, leave MGS1 alone!

I'm seeing this all over YouTube and Facebook, what's wrong with the ads? A lot of people seem offended by it.

Gaspar is, in his words, a special snowflake. Everything offends him :monkey3

:lol :lol :lol

I'm not arguing with him or anything, I'd like to hear Gaspars views on it. I just think these ads are harmless fun, even though it is strange that Ford is using a niche franchise like MGS to market cars, a lot people see it as Konami finding new strange ways to Monetize the franchise. I'm even seeing people call the actors sell outs for doing this, people really hate Konami these days which makes sense but the ads aren't that bad in my opinion.

I really don't get it. Its more a nice but confusing surprise. Very surprising since it is niche, bu we are the nostalgia generation. If anyones ever played an MGS its usually the first one. And we are the generation that can afford cars, specifically affordable ones.

MGS isn't really niche at this point, but it is strange to use MGS of all things for a card ad indeed. I would sorta see it as a way to monetize the franchise...but calling out the actors for doing this? That's low.

Thats the best part of it though.

Really i want them to reboot the franchise and bring back all the characters. It could take the franchise to exiting places. Maybe not killing Liquid and make him a recurring vilain for example.

Liquid would have been great in that role! I don't get why they killed him off...I really thought they were gonna pull a Wesker with him :lol

Kojima killed him off because MGS1 was supposed to be the final game in the series, he wanted Liquid to be the ultimate villain to end the series. Kojima said he regretted killing Liquid off so early.

I could see a lot of plot elements being fixed if that was the case actually, if Liquid wasn't killed off. MGS1 did fit a finale more than MGS2 imo, due to the perceived happy ending Snake would have

I was always pissed that since Ocelots father was the sorrow that Liquid didn't truly posess him as that was far more interesting. Spirituality while not shoved in your face has always had a presence in the MGS franchise. I always thought that even after death Solid Snake would be a tortured soul who refused to move on and instead tried to help those he thought worthy, the man is uncompromising.

Yea, the way Kojima tried bringing Liquid back in MGS2 was absolutely ridiculous and I'm glad MGS4 he retconned it.

MGS2 was supposed to end the series on a more ambiguous note. Leaving fans to speculate some thing, up until MGS4 most fans were arguing if whether anything that happened in MGS2 was real or not :lol

Well from what I remember in the MGS database, Liquid's arm did actually take over Ocelot which is why he replaced the arm with a prosthetic. I wasn't a fan of that whole supernatural aspect of MGS3, to me it was a nice twist finding out Ocelot was sort of the good guy the whole time.

What about Vulcan, Fortune, etc? In MGS4 you could literally photograph ghosts, the whole series has spiritual undertones not to be confused with religious undertones.

I am definitely in the minority but MGS 2 is my favorite of the franchise and I felt the end carried the true meaning and message that Snake and Kojima were trying to get across among a few other important messages.

Nothing wrong with the supernatural aspects of the game, I enjoyed it in MGS1 and all, maybe I would have been fine if Ocelot could just connect with Liquid some other way, but the whole attaching Liquids arm to his missing arm was just too ridiculous in my opinion, and also would have ruined Ocelot's character for me had he stayed like that. I do agree though, MGS2 did carry the true ending to what Kojima was trying convey. It probably has the best story I've ever experienced in a video game. I don't think it'll ever be matched if I'm honest. MGS4 story has some flaws, but to me, how Kojima ended Ocelot's story was absolutely perfect for that character.

Yeah I would not want Ocelot to remain completely controlled by Liquid but I think that there would have been many interesting dynamic and drastic changes to the story, setting, and gameplay if both had control but only for a short time before switching. Snake would have had a field day dealing with both.

I don't think MGS 2 has the best ending of any game but I agree it has the best ending of any MGS game. One thing I would have wanted from MGS 4 is a shot of Snake in Alaska with his huskies or at the very least a fallen star to show a warrior has passed on.

What's your favorite ending to a video game? If you don't mind me asking

I have to give a couple since its hard to narrow it down but MGS 2, Witcher 3, The Last Of Us, Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy X/X-2, Kingdom Hearts 1, Dragon Age 1 are the ones that come to mind.

Oh wow, the only ones that I played and beat on that list were MGS2 and Last of Us. I thought Last of Us ending was fantastic as well.

MGS2 and MGSV are my favorite endings in the Metal Gear series, Hitman Blood Money, Infamous 1, Red Dead Redemption, and God of War 1 are probably my fav endings I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure I'm forgetting some great ones.

Red Dead is on my list of must plays, just haven't gotten around to it. The game some call MGSV I despise and refuse to play but people are free to like it. I enjoyed all of the God Of War games, 3 was my favorite.

Not sure what type of games you play but the Witcher 3 is one of the most well executed games I have ever played in regards to Story and Character Development right along with The Last Of Us.

I tried to get into Witch 3, played like 5 hours or so, and I just couldn't do it. The main characters voice hurt my ears every time he spoke, and while I guess I didn't get anywhere close to beating the game, I played enough missions to know that they were all really formulaic and basically consisted of using your Witcher senses to locate something and then fight something. I also wasn't a fan of the combat at all. It just wasn't my kind of game, but I know I'm in the minority there.

One game I forgot to add on my list was Mass Effect 2, that ending was truly fantastic.
