With the use of the hammer, and er... Fire Sword, reminds me of Monster Hunter a bit haha.
I'll try the beta next month. Still playing MGSV Online quite a bit still, so this will feel natural.

it looked better than i expected, it was a direct copy of mgsv so i know it'll play good. this was honestly the first video i watched of this game and i wasn't completely turned off by it. i do however hate the zombie beings, i think the game itself would be well received if it was just normal people, it seemed decent otherwise. i like that they just used a random msf member instead of trying to cash cow off of bb. not exactly sure what to make of this game but i don't extremely hate it like i originally did. hopefully online is as good as mgs online usually is. not sure if this makes me look bad for kind of giving it a chance, cant say yet if im looking forward to it. if this is a spinoff of mgsv i just cant understand why they couldn't just add the missed content of mgsv, it kind of makes me annoyed that energy was put into this instead of that.

Looks like the MGS4 Critical Close up is finally happening.

Can't wait. George is probably the best Youtube reviewer out there and the only person to have done justice to the MGS games.

I'm really torn with MGS4 because I know it's a horribly written game. I like the graphics, sound and gameplay and the game was a bona fide cultural event when it came out. I guess at best it's a guilty pleasure, but it's still such a poor conclusion that takes a piss on MGS2, Solid Snake and everyone else.

So, after all these years, and replays of MGS 4, I'm only learning now that you're supposed to click the briefing button before clicking new game? :rotfl Hilarious how I missed that. Also, I never knew that pre Act 1 briefing video even existed...

I never noticed it until after the big MGS update came out a few years later.

It's right there in the main menu. Erm, I guess you guys know that there's one for MGS1 as well?

Doesn't it play automatically?

Nope, the MGS1 briefing is about 30-40 minutes long, you'll have to unlock individual files by watching them in order and if you exit prematurely, the files won't unlock if I recall. I know 99% of MGS1 players never checked out the mission briefing, or just watched 1 of all the files.

In any files with FREE ZOOM and FREE CAMERA, you can also switch the camera angles and zoom dependent on the scene.

Hot dang. Thanks for the heads-up. I know what game I'll be playing today to end 2017.

I think I know a bucket load of MGS1 easter eggs. I had too much spare time, you see.

- Get spotted too many times in the Dock and Campbell will remark on it when you reach the Heliport.
- Avoid getting spotted until the Heliport ducts and the cutscene where the Ninja kills the sentries will be missing.
- Depending on the ducts you choose entering the Tank Hangar, Miller will have different things to say in is introductory CODEC call.
- Avoid picking up the SOCOM and Thermal Goggles until you reach the DARPA Cheif and there will be a different cutscene with a cooler music.

I could go on, but those are just the easter eggs in the first 20 minutes into the game. :lol

It's out now. I'm going to watch it in a bit.

To be honest.. that was disappointing.

He didn't touch on next to any of the stories undertones and I know these things are subjective, but he missed the mark on a lot of them in my opinion.

Liquid didn't create world pease because countless off the grid groups would just now be the only people with weapons and Liquids group would be the only standing PMC.

He never mentioned one of the better aspects of the story, how people praise heros like Solid untill they don't need them anymore.

No mention of the stealth mission on Outer Haven which is one of the most brutal in the series.

No mention of the complete lack of a reason as to why Liquid and Vamp would be working together in the first place after Ocelot killwd Fortune in MGS2.

No mention of how Snake was thought to be the hero the entire series but is actually the villain.

No mention of how pretty much the entire story is about how the MGS series in general and Solid Snake are out dated and over due on retirement because there has never been a worthy replacement.

Barely any mention of how MGS4 should have been released in episodes like Half Life.

And the biggest thing, no mention of how Snake doesn't ever win. He doesn't get the girl, he doesn't save the day, he doesn't get a heros celebration. He only gets to go somewhere quite and die.

It's seems like this was just an hour long culmination of everything everyone has ever bitched about. There is no short supply of complaints with this game but he really only hit the superficial ones that have been talked about at length in the almost ten years since the game released. The other MGS CCs offered fresh conversation about old games but this one was just more of the same things we have all heard before.
