Im glad im not a sound guy, from what i understand MGS has always had excellent sound quality. Strange that it would change now.

For what its worth it sound great to me. Surround sound seems to work (i have a soundbar so it simulates surround sound)
I can tell the difference with everything else and MGS4 though, hey wen beyond the bounds with sound design there

I am a sound guy, know a thing or two about sound design (amateurish producer), I found GZ's sound design as good as MGS4 or The Last of Us.

I don't have a big sound system cause I live in a small student's apartment but I have a fat collection of headphones; Bose, AT, Sennheiser, you name it, (not a single pair of Dr. Dre's )

The rain sounds crystal clear, you hear thunder on the back, the steps of nearby guards in the exact direction they're at, explosions have a solid boom to them, the different terrains have subtle yet distinct sounds, It's way more subtle and more sophisticated than MGS4.

The only thing that sounds bad, sound quality wise, is BB's voice, on the PS3 at least, it sounded a bit distorted and fuzzy.

Turned up and my woofter is kicking out eleventeen decimated bell ends of pure none willy related awesomeness.

Solidus and I played more of Peace Walker's multiplayer just now. All sorts of crazies going on, including people with rocket launchers. I find that disabling the headshots gave lesser players like myself a fighting chance.

It's pleasantly surprising that we're able to constantly find players, the most we had to wait was about 10 minutes but after that it's pretty much a steady stream of players from there on. Don't you kill the servers now Konami!

Yeah, I hope the servers stay around a bit longer, as I still need to get the trophies >.<. Those Japanese players are no joke.

We tend to play very late at night, (NY time) since that's the time the servers filed with elite Asian players. It's a lot of fun since the mechanics and gameplay are very easy to grasp unlike most multiplayer games.

Yeah, all of the weird folks come out at night in the servers . I'll be on around Thursday or Friday for another game. I'm usually up in the wee hours of the morning...

Go easy on me though. PW was my least enjoyable MGS and i only ever completed it once, i don't think i ever played the MP. I'll most likely be canon fodder

Yeah, PW sucks for obvious reasons, but the multiplayer is pretty enjoyable - like a downgraded, portable experience of MGO. Ryan actually set some rules and turned off the head-shots the last time we played. So, neither of us got sniped with head-shots, half-way across the map by the god-like Japanese players . I'm still trying to get the hang of it, but I think I'm improving.

No more headshots from now on. Heck, I'll probably disable grenade/rocket launchers as well. Who in their right mind brings rocket propelled explosives to a close quarters battle?
