I didn't say Ghosts were about precognition, I said just like Vamp, ghosts are in the acceptable side of the paranormal that fit in MGS, vampires aren't.

If you really see no difference and there's no reason to pick and choose, like I said, what about aliens? Literal voodoo zombies, wizards? etc etc

There were voodoo dolls in MGS 4, and MGS 2 left a premise that there were Aliens in control of the White House. I'm not saying that I would've liked for there to be actual Aliens. But, considering all of that, why do are you so intent on believing, that it would've been a stretch of the imagination to include actual Vampires? :lol

MGS started out like a fantasy military series. This is regardless of the blanket answer of "nanomachines" for everything from MGS 4.

Hold up, what's this about a persona?
If you already know it's a Vampire motif, then the nanomachines explanation does absolutely nothing to hurt that.

It would be hurtful to the "mysticism" of Vamp if he was really vampire, but then again, it would be unfitting to have a vampire to begin with.

But that's the thing, were they LITERAL voodoo dolls? Were they LITERAL aliens? No, it only proves my point that literal vampires would've been out of genre.

Just to add: I don't like Vamp, by the way. His inclusion in MGS 2 was beyond strange...
I wonder why :lol

We're going in circles now, and there are genres in anime as well

Yes, very much seriously super cereal.
Yes, machinery, that conveniently sounds like a dinosaur, and it even moves like a roaring dinosaur when doing it, that must be a tactical advantage in the battlefield.
It had limitations...like you can't expect that thing to walk normally do you? I mean ok, dinosaur motif is weird, but singing robots doesn't make sense.

Wasn't there something like a voodoo doll in MGS 3? I think there was.

The other thing with nanomachines is, with all the fantasy in MGS, nanomachines seems like an attempt to ground it.

I kinda never cared for Vamp either, besides some sort of troll like character who made me laugh :lol

It's like a motif - not an actual one.

You seemed oblivious about it.

Limitations that pander to a convenient motif.
They were artificial intelligence, it makes sense, if Rex convenient explanation makes sense, so does singing AI, hell, in fact singing AI alone makes more sense than roaring dinosaur robot and a vampire.

If you don't like it, I can respect that, but it makes sense.

Honestly don't remember, I doubt it was literal voodoo.

And that's bad? Nanomachines were present since MGS1.

MGS is grounded military with a hint of fantasy/paranormal, not the other way around.

It's like a motif - not an actual one.

Okay.

If you already knew it was like a motif or like a persona, the the nanomachines ruined nothing.

Prove me wrong.

Pro tip: You can't.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I just don't see the point for these kind of debates? I mean, don't get me wrong, but they're never constructive, when all of us are just posting in a battle of attrition to win the Interwebs. I've got better things to do man :lol.

I'm just 'aving a laff m8 :lol it's just an opinion, I can't be proven right or wrong, we're all friends here.

But FSLAR did hurt my feelings a little.

I referenced a Disney kids' movie with Tim Allen and Forest Gump, how can you be offended? I'm having a laugh too...in my own strange way :mwaha
