I've been going through MGS3 the last week or so off and on. I just got to the Fear and I tranq beat him... I'm so rusty, I used to be so good at this. I forgot to bring rotten and poisoned food with me to feed him. Although I did find some poison dart frogs to use. Now I'm left with one MK22 round >_>

It's amazing how there were multiple ways to defeat the bosses in MGS 3. I remember you could even snipe The End before the boss fight, or wait one week for him to die of old age :lol.

i remember that Boss fight was incredibly disappointing the first time i played it (same wth the Fury). I just put on the night goggles and pumped him full of shotgun shells. easy.
Although the last shot i got in was a second before he got to me with is creepy crawling move. That was pretty epic

Yeah Fear was probably the worst of the Cobra fights. You can do it from just one spot and not really run anywhere. Still doesn't make any sense he had stealth camo in 1964.

I found MGS3 in general very disappointing in terms of Boss fights. The End saved it, being one of the best in the series.

Alot of people seem to love The Boss fight, again there I felt the mechanics were lacking. It should have changed it up like MGS4 did.

Yeah they are weak outside of the End and Boss... even the Shagohod wasn't anything special. and it's a shame the Boss fight had piss poor CQC in it. Snake vs Liquid Ocelot was the best conveyed CQC of the series, obviously.

There are more than enough Poison Dart Frogs during the fight that you don't really need any poisonous food with you even as the fight begins. Just shoot the frogs, don't pick them up and the Fear will eat them by himself eventually. It's not a boss fight, it's literally watching a man commit suicide in the woods. :lol

You could also wear the Raikov mask to confuse Volgin, or throw those glowing mushrooms to absorb his electricity, or you could toss food to Ocelot and have him give you helpful items in return. :lol

The End will probably end up being a pain in the ass for me. I'll need to hold him up for his camo. I lost my gamesave with my last PS3, so I'm trying to get everything in one run. No alerts and no kills. Sneaking out of Groznjy Grad without being spotted is a pain. It's amazing to watch someone ghost run it on Youtube, since they know all the enemy placement at any time, and even know which way their friggin head is turned.

What difficulty are you playing at? The trick to escaping Groznjy Grad is smoke grenades and the box, especially more so on Hard and above.

Oh, you can also use the Konami Code during the End fight and his location will be revealed. :lol

Are you getting the EZ Gun as well?

It's on Extreme. I forget, how do you get the EZ gun?

Also, how do you get those online camos? Do you need to beat the game first?

EDIT I just read, you need to get all animals. I can do that in another run.

Dayum.

You need to capture all the animals, plants and herbs. Don't have to eat them, just pick them up.

Won't be too bad, I've done it before. Only problem is, finding the three Snakes during the Boss fight.

Ugh I just remembered I need to pick up that secret rat tailed snake thing...

I've been dying to get the stealth camo myself. Collecting all the Kerotins is freaking tuff!

You can't tell which ones you've already got. You have to use a strategy guid which sucks the fun out of playing. And you only get one change during the chance scene to nail 2 of them :-S

That drawing looks great Pliss! Nice one

uggh getting some of the animals, plants and herbs was such a pain....getting The End to give up his camo too, at least on the 3DS. I haven't really tried that on consoles yet.

The Tsuchinoko. The best place to capture one is right after the Fear fight. Plant mousetraps, exit the area, re-enter. Rinse and repeat.

You can by eating them, it will be in your food history.

It was unbearably choppy fighting the End on 3DS. :(

You can just get zero alerts and avoid them entirely.

Thanks! Isn't hard to get it from him, once you know his location, he's not hard to sneak up to.
