I imagined it would be MUCH MUCH worse to be honest, when Ryan said something about the story "amounting to zero" I immediately thought: "**** no, it's all a dream, at the end I'm gonna ****ing wake up or something" :lol thank god that wasn't the case..

I'm a wiseass not a jackass, I'll never spoil the tone of the ending. :lol

inb4 tl;dr lmao

So 58 hours later I just finished it.

Yeah I loved it, ending and all. I won't fight anyone about it but yeah I have to say it. :lol

The real ending, yeah I saw it coming from the beginning of the game, honest, from the moment they made me make my avatar to NOT use it, and then Ishmael saying "you're talking to yourself" I said: "yeah, that's Big Boss", but when they dropped the twist I couldn't help but to smile because the game makes you believe you're the real deal.

Loved the story, I will admit it took a while to drop bombs but I had no problem with the pacing, probably cause I was cranking tapes all day long so the story was always moving for me, and it's a huge story, as big as any other MGS', at the end there are like 3 hours of melodramatic cutscenes very ala MGS so yeah, it wasn't lacking in that department either, the gameplay is immaculate, visuals are fantastic too...

I think the graphics get frowned upon cause they actually look photo realistic at times, sure, some weird textures and dead plants but the world is huge and it looks real, anybody noticed in the prologue when you're crawling, you can actually see different sets of back muscles of Fake Boss contracting with each movement? **** the Unreal Engine :lol

Themes are HUGE, my brain is barely tasting them at the moment, I'm gonna be thinking about them for a while.

I miss Quiet.

At least I have DD. Dogs before hoes. :monkey2

The game did not feel incomplete at all to me, but it DID feel like (especially after watching the Kingdom of the flies) was like a piece of a much bigger thing, like Kojima had a sequel in mind.

So yeah, this felt like the MGS1 to MGS2. I really want more. I feel like playing it all over again right now.

It feels to me budget wasn't the issue here, just time. Konami abandoning ship, I guess it put a halt to Kojima's plans and he had to finish up with dignity and tie up this game with the rest of the franchise, and I think the nailed it, that end speech of BB telling Fake Boss (the player) how he was part of everything gave me feels, like many other scenes in the game, nothing short of its franchise name.

Because really, all that work into the FOX Engine for just one MGS and crappy PES games? Nah, Kojima had big plans for this.

Sorry for the long post, too much to dump and I left a lot out.

Yup, I knew it...

In any case, Gaspar, the graphics get frowned on because it's cross-generational. Unreal Engine 4 has been around for a long time, but it still look much better than the Fox Engine, especially in PC. The Fox Engine =\= Photo realism. I'm playing both PC and console games, I know what I'm talking about.

Not sure who else it would be tho. But it did bother me that Big Boss was throwing anything he could in a desperate attempt to get away from Quiet instead of just CQCing her ass to the ground like Venom was capable of doing later in the game.

I suppose Ishmael could of been Big Boss but with some futuristic... from the past tech that give him a realistic false eye and stuff. I can suspend my disbelief that his face is hidden enough to satisfy me.

... But i dont get why they didnt change the date and time of the Bike scene with ocelot as it takes roughly 4 hours after the escape.

Since we are shown in that scene Big Boss is going to need plastic surgery to become Medic Snake why didnt they say that scene was a week in the past?

It makes no sense to have Big Boss in an escape scene. Head wrapped in bandages next to the guy who just got transformed in to him... to then reveal he was just using the bandages as a disguise and now he really has to get the surgery.

Why didnt he just have surgery at the same time? Because as of the flashback ending both Big Boss and Medic have Big Boss's face.

Why didnt we see Ishmael helping Medic escape, then Ishmael is pulled from the Ambulance by Ocelot then we have a flashback scene with BB on the bike being told about whats going to happen.

Meh. 10/10 greatest MGS!

I just don't get why the only eye you can see is the one he doesn't have. It is just to throw you off and then it's never touched on so it makes zero sense. If it's some future tech fine just say something about it in the game.

I don't get why we need to see his butt. Kojima's sexual perversions are that of a 15 year old.

At 61%, completed the story (with the exception of mission 41) & the boredom is really getting to me.

The legend he was, all lies :lol

I'm building my Mother Base and FOB right now, and farming for GMP's a real b*tch. There's not way to do it effectively except for long missions - some which pay 180,000 GMP a piece (which is basically chump change, given how expensive everything is in the game). I really don't see any way to finish everything in this game unless I dedicate all of my waking hours to it, and play missions over and over just for in-game money :pow.

I really do hope we get a Metal Gear Solid 6, or the Metal Gear Remakes, this game doesn’t feel like an ending the series unfortunately.

Me too, at the very least we could get another game showing how Fake Boss becomes evil and how Mother-base is turned into Outer Heaven.

Then the MG remakes.

But we're not gonna get them, which is why Kojima tried to tie everything up with so many unanswered questions.

:^)

Fair enough, I should've said just AK instead of UE, UE is indeed more powerful. And it's also true FE took some downgrades for being cross-generational.

But the FE is aimed at photo-realism and it achieves it, can you tell me with a straight face PT doesn't look photo-realistic? In the case of MGSV it's particularly visible when you're landing, or just glaring at the overall landscape or in some man-made facility.

I'm not saying it looks photo-realistic the whole time, but it has its moments.

Well, soft shadow anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, draw distances, light blooms, depth of field - all of those are missing from MGS V, and it barely even breaks a sweat with PC old hardware. You can max out the game very easy on mid-ranged card. I'm not sure what you're getting at about AK, because the game looks GORGEOUS (in terms of performance, the only knock, is that the game was capped at 30 FPS). Just check Ryan's photo thread, you won't be able to get those kind of visuals from MGS V. PT looked really nice, but I think the lack of lighting may have worked to its advantage.

Of course, the FOX Engine may be capable of a lot more than what we've seen in MGS V. But, sadly, it won't be used ever again. It's just a shame that this graphics engine that was being developed since 2010 got axed by Konami (whoever this CEO is, I don't think he'll be lasting very long).
