I don't think he was ever really angry at Big Boss and Zero, he just needed to get them along out of the way to complete his goal.

That just reminded me of that "The chain of retaliation is what will truly bind this world together as one" line. All those cool lines in the trailer like that and "Les Enfants Terribles...Zero called it" were relegated to cassettes!:lol

Something never acknowledged in game is why the Medic is just as good at CQC as Big Boss? He's in a coma for nine years and he comes out as an expert? If he was "that good", why is he relegated to a Medic?

Why would they splice Big Boss' genes into the soldiers of MGS1 if it damages their sense of hearing and prevents them from only seeing ten feet in front of them?

Just thinking about MG1 due to the ending of V... if Cipher/Patriots viewing Big Boss as a rival/enemy at the time of MG1... why was he allowed to command FOX-HOUND?

Remember my theory from last year? Wouldn't it be a much better story if:

- You find out you're a decoy towards the last act rather than the final mission.
- You learn that Big Boss orchestrated the entire conflict Diamond Dogs had to fight, and turns out you were doing everything to solve his problems rather than doing your own thing like in the final game.
- Knowing that BB was behind all the misery of Diamond Dogs and yourself, you go up against BB, combing trough all possible channels with some exciting missions.
- BB retaliates by destroying Motherbase, some men rally for you and some turn out to be moles working for BB.
- You have to fight some of Diamond Dogs soldiers, who are working for BB. (Like the scene where the DD soldiers take you away).
- You have an epic fight with BB, only to be killed by him. Diamond Dogs is overtaken by BB and his forces.

Your bond with Venom Snake is complete, and so is BB's transformation into villainy.

Didn't they do hypnotherapy to him? Like Ocelot did to himself to trick the patriots into thinking he was Liquid. All of Big Boss's combat experiences transplanted onto Venom making him believe he was actually lived through Snake Eater and PW.

This is my biggest disappointment with the game, most of those tapes would have made for some really amazing cutscenes.

It's scary how close you got to the actually ending.

I'll take the ridiculous hypnosis angle (even though I despise this crutch for the plot again) but making him know CQC out of nowhere?

Because He actually believed he was in fact Big Boss, all of Big Boss's past, which probably included the times he and the Boss came up with CQC were all placed into Venom's memories. Then it was already said he was probably the best soldier in MSF outside of Big Boss, so he already knew CQC. That all makes sense. I'm sure the game has plenty of plot holes but this doesn't seem like one to me :lol

"He's one of our best men, so let's make him the medic instead of field personal."

Seems legit to me.

That would've made for a truly spectacular build-up, and ending. The ending wouldn't have actually been bad if there was a better plot leading up to it. I think the game desperately needed another chapter, too. In any case, I can't imagine why Big Boss would actually WANT a Phantom to help him build his legacy, when he was fine becoming a legendary soldier by himself.

But, this is irrelevant. Now. Young man. Have you listened to my latest exposition on the Wolbachiya? It is very important.

That's what bothered me, too. There wasn't any S-ranked soldier on Mother Base who worked as a field Medic. They just tossed it in for a lame plot-device. You know what would've been awesome? If it were Frank Jaeger (or, if you want to toss in a Foxhound member) Decoy Octopus as Venom Snake. It would've made for an interesting storyline.

Now. About the Wolbachiya. Have you listened to cassette tapes 15 to 100 where I speak. On the vocal chord parasites? It is of the utmost importance that you listen to them.

It would have certainly made a better story, and that was honestly what I expected from the game at the very least. I was championing the decoy story, but certainly with some sort of angle with it but nope, it's all pretty cut and dried.

I mean seriously, why not let Fake Boss die in the end, being another pawn in BB's game. BB then orders his men to burn your body, the game fades to black. Also, have Fake Boss be a flawed character where half of his fate was his own doing, where he could have easily walked away but choose revenge. His quest for revenge made him blind towards BB pulling the strings all along, and before he dies, he realizes he could have lived a peaceful life had he walked away. Fake Boss dies knowing revenge is bad. Grrrr.

Boom! Drama.

When Venom is listening to the recording, the logo on the door behind him has the DD logo... but after he punches the mirror it becomes the Outer Heaven logo.

People assume this is a jump in time, and that there's a hidden audio file for the side B of the cassette.

Sounds like DLC to me. There won't be any secrets in a Konami game they would rather just sell them to you.

If that's the case why did it seem like he had never even heard of the AI pod when he snatched Huey. He didn't even seem to recognize The Boss voice either. I was sort of assuming he was recruited after Peace Walker because if this and that's why we have never seen him before.

It just hit me, 80 mil already spent on a game and we blame Konami for meddling with Kojima's vision? Are we sure Konami's the real villain here? :lol

I never thought they were entirely. He has all the creative clout behind the game, he should definitely take as much blame as Konami. I can't stand the white knighting these ****** bags do for him.

You're not a real fan of the series if you ignore all his blatant flaws and become another "A Hideo Kojima Game" sheep.
