I guess they are bad but main villain of the series bad? Not even close. They just seem like random things he did with no real motive. And I don't really see where his Outer Heaven is the true one. Venoms came first and they both are only in one game. Just seems like he ripped off Venoms idea and failed exactly like Venom did, by the same guy, in the same circumstances. I'm beginning to think Venom is a better Snake than Big Boss ever was.

Big Boss still created Outer Heaven while Venom created Diamond Dogs and further spread his reputation as a legendary soldier. He only had Venom take over Outer Heaven when he returned to FOXHOUND to keep a low profile. After Venom died, then he makes his stronghold in Zanzibar Land.

Venom may have once been his own man, but given how he follows through with Big Boss's plans it just shows that his allegiance with him remained strong till the end. The fact that Big Boss still builds Outer Heaven means that he's still the one running the show, he just knows how to delegate when the need arises for him to shift roles and cover his tracks. In fact, most of his "bad guy" status comes from MG2 anyway (what with his speech about creating a cycle of conflict), in which MGSV explicitly states that it's really him and not Venom.

Many places have been called Outer Heaven, including MSF, and DD is just another proto/fake outer heaven, the real big one was Zanzibar. It even says it there in the Wiki, another OH stronghold, the "real" one, was established by the real big boss in south Africa, and it's the real Big Boss who puts Fake Boss in charge of there too.

It still says that Big Boss created Outer Heaven in South Africa, just that Diamond Dogs as a group transitioned into Outer Heaven themselves with Venom Snake taking over in place of Big Boss.

All I'm saying is I've only ever seen its symbol painted on one base in the series so interpret the muddied plot how you want but from what I'm seeing Big Boss never really did anything.

What is there to interpret though? BB beat the Boss, BB founded MSF, early attempt at OH, founded another OH in South Africa, and later led a revolution for the independence of a country from the USSR while Venom was playing decoy, later he became the president of said country and founded the largest Outer Heaven there ever was.

Venom Snake didn't even found DD, DD was most likely founded with the remnants of MSF's assets, he was only put on the job at OH.

I like VS, I really do, but in no way is he > to BB.

Why is it confusing? If anything it cleans things up a bit doesn't it?

So Big Boss has not made anything other than MSF at this point. Also if they used MSF assets where were they? We had no personnel, vehicles, weapons or money. It was basically from scratch.

I kind of think if Kojima continued to make MGS games, he might've introduced a fourth clone of Les Enfants Terribles .

That's basically what they did with Venom. Like it or not there are 5 Snakes now.

Yeah, except Outer Heaven. You know, Solid Snake isn't infiltrating DD. He's infiltrating South Africa's stronghold which was put there by BB.

So I guess when VS came back from saving Kaz on his very 1st mission and landed on that platform that platform just magically appeared out of thin air.

The whaler they later modified for SIGINT missions, the chopper, the platform, all of this was already there when VS woke up, where did you think all that came from?

Of course they had money left, it's not like they kept it under the mattress.

All the talk about Big Boss building his own nation in TPP, makes me wish we had THAT game instead of the one where we play as his body double. I think the rise of Zanzibarland would've made for a far more interesting story, since we know that the physical location Diamond Dog's off-shore facility doesn't transition into the actual Outer Heaven.

So Big Baws built Outer Heaven in Africa and then just left putting Venom in charge again?

And I was under the impression the chopper and the platform were on Ocelot dime. I mean is there even any indication that Miller has ever been there before they recuse him?

Word is, he has already left Konami. He attended TGS this year as a regular audience member. He wasn't on-stage like he's been every year since 2004.

At this rate nothing would suprise me. Would be a shame tho because they will just throw him back in the MGS meat grinder. I think there hasn't been any developments because there is probably a gag order in him that last a year or so. Kinda like when Conan left NBC and couldn't appear on TV or talk about the situation for a year.
