So Big Baws built Outer Heaven in Africa and then just left putting Venom in charge again?
Yes, in the 90's, that's what the assistant is for.

And I was under the impression the chopper and the platform were on Ocelot dime. I mean is there even any indication that Miller has ever been there before they recuse him?

Yes, in fact he was operating it and taking missions, which is when he was captured, while he was on a mission training rebels.

Do you guys think Kojima is definitely leaving Konami? For some reason I’ve been getting a hunch he might actually stay and patch things up.

At this point I would just settle for a Kingdom of the flies DLC.

Konami really left us starving.

I think the story is, Big Boss eventually returns to the U.S to lead Foxhound but he leaves Venom Snake in charge of Outer Heaven in Africa. It doesn't really explain anything about Miller, though. He was Foxhound's drill instructor, which means that he should've been taking orders from the real Big Boss? And this in turn means that he was complicit in the plot to have Solid Snake killed, despite saying "to hell with Big Boss" in MGS V and....

But, wasn't that the case from the very beginning? How does MGSV change that at all?

Ok I remember the part about Miller but that first part is stupid and doesn't really negate my point that Venom Snake does everything while Big Boss sits back taking credit and not really doing anything else. Which is pretty true to character Big Boss started on the codec not doing anything except behind the scenes secret stuff. Still sounds to me like Venom is the better of the two.

Some things don't add up. Miller calls Big Boss a "Monster" in MG 1. But, the Big Boss who was leading Outer Heaven was the doppelganger - who, Miller said he'd support in MGS V. Point being, Miller rejected the real Big Boss, and chose to follow Venom Snake, instead, at the end of MGS V. It also couldn't have been a case of mistaken identity, since Venom's horn couldn't have been removed.

Really? Snake Eater, MSF (which was the reason DD exists), South Africa.... Later Foxhound and Zanzibar....

VS certainly does everything.

Well, Miller knew everything, but we have to deal with the fact that there's a chunk of the story missing so there will always be loose ends.

Forever and ever.

Or it was all part of the act.

In the end Venom looked pissed when he smashed the mirror, I’m guessing he wasn’t very cool with Kaz knowing everything and pretty much using him for his own agenda just like Big Boss did. Venom is basically the first Solid Snake but eventually goes madd :lol

It's funny, if you count Portable Ops, we've had three prequel games to "close the loop" on the canon, but none of them have actually done it. I think pturtle was right... MGS V sets up another game that'll never be created.

That makes sense. But, he's supposed to be Big Boss' doppelganger, and not Snake's! :lol

It feels like even Chapter 2 was cut, judging by how abruptly it ended. I mean, Mission 46 just shows up out of blue after you've done enough side-ops. The story doesn't even transition into it.

Yeah you're right, Quiet's ending is just that, Quiet's ending, there's not even a Chapter 2.

God damn I'm gonna stop thinking about it or I'm gonna get an ulcer.

Snake Eater- he was a pawn who would have died countless times if the Boss didn't want him to succeed.

MSF- I will give you he does go on missions but its also the first MGS where you can have other people go on your missions for you. (unless you count PO)

What exactly did he do in South Africa and Zanzibar? Do we really even know what was him and what was Venom? If you play the games he pretty much just shows up to die.

She wanted him to go through with his mission, she didn't give away, anything in that last fight.

Venom dies in MG1.

You can't do the main missions with anyone but Snake in PW can you? I don't know cause I always picked Snake.

What did he do in South Africa? Set it up? The whole thing, the whole fortress, what VS did in DD to make it bigger, BB did in South Africa and the South Africa Stronghold was the real deal, DD was just an extension of Outer Heaven.

And in Zanzibar, c'mon, he only overthrew a government. :lol

I guess you can count PO, most stuff there is canon isn't it? PO is the game plot I remember the least.

I read the only stuff that isn't canon are the things that contradict other games on the series.

Its been a while since I have played but I dont remember him doing that. I remember him convincing others to do other for him and no one knew he was even behind Zanzibar until that scientist told Solid Snake and then he killed him with.hair spray and a lighter. I'm.Pretty sure that's the only appearance he makes in that game.

Replaying the story only, and I'm starting to question whether that whole body double thing is real.

A lot of stuff in the intro seems really off. I'm starting to think it's a possibility that Ishmael isn't real, and Venom could be the real Big Boss.
