The only way I see this working is if you play multiplayer.

I'd advise against this. Anyone can gangbang PW2, it's much more satisfying to do it solo. All gangbanging will prove is that you are completely incapable of handling PW2 alone, and it takes the sum of you and your team to equal one PW2. It means you're not its equal. Gangbanging should be reserved for farming AI boards and mech parts after you've already killed it yourself once before.

Just bring the strongest missile launchers you have access to, and chaff grenades may work on it (I don't remember). Chaff is meant for disabling its EM pulse, so don't waste those. Chaff won't work on PWCustom, though. I don't know if you have access to the Outer Ops for the battle helmet, but get that too if you don't have it. Obviously, aim strictly for the AI pod for maximum damage. Stopping its nuke launch, though, may be better if you target the nuke launcher itself. I don't remember.

Good advices there guys.Ive played enough hours of PW so i know what i need to do.But i truly am stuck as good strategy that has worked with all the AI bosses so far, fails against PW because it's just too damn hard.

I need to Co-op someone to get an A or S ranked soldier for sure,my only chance really. But does co-op work with a PSP player when i play the HD collection on PS3?
In the Mother base menu i have the option to transfer my PW date to a PSP though but not the other way around as far as i know.If it did,i could co-op with my PSP and transfer the new data back to PS3.

I've heard from multiple people on the official PlayStation forum, that co-op does not make things easier. The game actually increases the difficulty exponentially depending on the number of people that you're playing with on co-op. So, if you want an easier experience, play solo.

Here's what I've found:

The AIs themselves only get MINIMAL bonuses to their body part healths.

The Vehicle battles are where the COOP scaling shines.

Also, when with multiple people when you or they are later in the game this is a very different situation from your first time playing the game with ____ gear.

Like so many other games designed around co-op play, Peace Walker doesn't scale its difficulty according to the number of players. This is fine for the extra content, but it also makes for a handful of poorly-balanced story missions that can become infuriating sticking points for one person to tackle alone.

i love how fast is to take peace walker and some of the modded IA's thanks to coop, 1st victory against the four legged peace walker took me like the most boring 50 minutes of my time

There is the option to play almost every mission in co-op with up to three other players. This works really well, with no increase in difficulty during the mission so if you are really stuck you can set yourself up as a host of a co-op game and wait for others to jump in.

I have sources backing me up. Where are YOUR sources? And if you think that having 3 buddies with the M47 and bandana helping you gangbang PW2 is difficult, then it's more a question of are you even good enough to take down PW2 without the M47 and bandana?

You need to calm the hell down dude, and stop saying "gangbang" so much (this forum isn't the ghetto). But it's cool that the AI missions aren't affected like the other co-op missions. Solo, co-op, whatever way works.

So how does the fulton launcher work for me if the guy i co-op with fulton a soldier with the launcher?Does he only get it or both of us?

If anyone is interested in helping me out i would appreciate it.

Do you have access to the ops for the fulton launcher so you can get one yourself? Extra Ops [45] > [46] > [102] > [47] > [48] > [91] > [37] > [98] should be the path.

Extra ops 64 should have the fulton mine, if you're lacking that.

Well, I'm finally going to pick up the HD collection this week :lol. Are you playing on X-Box 360 or PS3?

Similar to using normal fulton or fulton mine, all players playing will get the soldier(s).

Once u get the fulton launcher life gets alot easier, especially all the vehicle missions.
Or u could use the fulton mine along with a smoke granade. Just have to memorize the
timing for the tanks where and when will they stop to deploy soldiers.

I suggest u to go solo while trying to get an S rank for vehicle missions as the number
of soldiers are not insanely high (unless u r farming for good soldiers)

The hardest Boss of them all comes way before you have any weapons or soldier potential that are good enough, which is really frustrating and ive never been this frustrated over a MGS game before.
All i read when i google it is get to Mission 49,get the fulton launcher from EO 98,S Rank that Boss to get M47,get higher ranked R&D Soldiers.

But when none of the options above is even available for me right now, what is there left to do solo?Im leaning towards the option of getting someone fulton launch me some A or S ranked R&D soldiers but i don't think i have any missions available for that either yet :gah:
Only A and S ranked soldiers that are available in the missions i have available now are Intel and Mess Hall soldiers as far as i know.Ive run through a few missions with the Analyzer to check.

Kardon, before you start posting know-it-all messages, I suggest you backread this thread.

You quoted my message, but it's incomplete. This was my message:

I'm thinking of what else we can do to maximize your potential to beat Peace Walker II.

The only way I see this working is if you play multiplayer. There are a lot of folks playing online who can help you kick Peace Walker II's ass, although I understand that you wanna go do it alone.

I mainly play the multiplayer/Co-Op Missions to get better recruits (I do the levels which I haven't reached yet). Go with some player who already has the Carl Gustav Fulton launcher, and Co-Op to the missions where there's a Sniper on top of a cliff. That's an S-rank R&D soldier, and that'll get you leveled-up.

The idea of Co-op missions to beat PW2 was presented, but was not a legitimate suggestion because I acknowledged that: I understand that he wants to do it alone.

We were trying to help Espen (Rock83) in a situation where:
- he maxed out the rank of his R&D soldiers based on his current game status, and can no longer find soldiers that'll bump-up his R&D level
- he has launchers & weapons that do not suffice in beating PW2. Supply Markers run out before PW2 is beaten, so that means the launchers are too weak
- to be able to upgrade his launchers, he needs 1 more R&D team level-up, or get a new type of launcher

It's not a matter of getting to the Extra Ops to unlock the Carl Gustav Fulton (because he needs to beat PW2 to get there).. it's the matter of farming A or S-rank R&D soldiers to get that level up in the R&D team that'll give him the new launcher level/type and beat PW2.

Without the Carl Gustav Fulton, the only way to get those S-rank R&D soldiers/snipers at the top of the cliffs is to Co-Op with someone online who has the Carl Gustav Fulton, because all players get the soldiers that are Fultoned.

By the way Espen.. The Fulton Mine will work with those S-rank R&D snipers at the cliff. I remember doing it. Just plant the mine directly beneath the snipers below the cliff, shoot it, and they should be Fultoned.

If I remember correctly, the Fulton Mines come much earlier in Extra Ops rewards than the Carl Gustav Fulton launcher (which is much later in the Extra Ops sequencing).

Are you at a point where you got the mine already? :hi5:

Either that or he isn't good enough to make do with what he has. I never co-op'ed in Peace Walker and was able to solo EVERY mission. When going for max damage with limited resources, save it all for the AI pod. Forget the other parts.

Well... I've been searching around for this one song forever. It's the song from the "Mission Selector" menu right before the Peace Walker battles. It's not even included in the soundtrack. Someone was kind enough to finally post it up on YouTube. Such a bad-ass theme.

I would gladly help but the time differences might be a problem - -'.

I googled that too,but the specs for that is in a mission i haven't unlocked yet...Off course.

Do you play PW on PS3 or PSP?Im on PS3 and not sure if i can play with someone on the PSP.

On PS3 (i sold my psp to my ex years ago)

Good,i think we can work something out then:)

And you have the Fulton Launcher? That's all i need help with, get those S Ranked R&D soldiers.

Another question,if you have unlocked EO 49 with the best R&D soldiers in the game, which i haven't yet.Does it work if you invite me to a mission that i haven't unlocked yet? That way i won't need the fulton launcher either.

Last thing,i know there is a trade option in the Main Menu. How does it work?
Can i trade away my B Ranked soldiers for some S Ranked? If anyone is willing to help me out with that off course, that way we don't have to spend time doing missions.

If i remember correctly there was an option not to join missions that u have not reach in the
main ops (so it's up to u to joing or noT). Same goes for the extra ops.

The trading isnt very useful (i'm not 100% sure as i only used it once), u cant trade soldiers
that are greatly differ in their rank (i tried "C" for an "A" - didnt work)

Edit: i do have fulton launcher :)
