its sad to see the ¿end? of solid snake and like you guys i cant wait to get my hands on mgs4. does anyone know if the series is going to go on or something? a ps3 remake of metal gear solid would be awesome (just wishful thinking).

No one knows, but it's going to be hard to kill off such a legend and bring him back...it's like comics anyone who dies eventually comes back.

I would like to see more of a PS3 remake for MG 1 and 2, MGS was already remade for the cube and it sucked.

They always got the "Clone" excuse, to use if they need Solid snake back...

i dont consider him a legend, cough cough sellout cough:monkey3 i want to see more on big boss, i know there were more of him after portable ops

I could never get into portable ops, I thought it sucked.

HAAAAA How could you say that?? It's as great as mgs3 imo! Some aspects of the game are even better. First of all the fact that it's a 20 hour long game and you play 19hours and a half once you've watched all the cut scenes.
I thought it was incredible seeing how Big Boss changed his mind as regards to his country and thought of building a "Soldiers's heaven" thanks to Gene! Plus the end of the game is just sick. Man that final conversation... it almost brought me to tears! KOJIMA IS A GENIUS!

I wanted a real story to it, it was more like a collect this guy, it was too broken up...You didn't even play as snake in missions.

Yeah portable ops is a different beast then MGS3. I liked both games tremendously, but can see how some might not like portable ops since gameplay is not exaclty like the other Metal gear Solid games.

However I think that the portable ops way, works very good for a portable system like the PSP.

The story however is still the best part of Portable ops, love it... I agree Kojima is a genius, or at the very least very very talented stroy teller.

Agree,Big Boss is a legend, and i liked him much more than the Snake clone.

Would love to see more of him,but i think MGS3 had a good end, with the Boss betraying her country and worked with the russians, and had a final fight with Snake and died,he killed the woman he trusted and loved,so it makes more sense that he probably retired.MGS3 is my favourite in the series.

Mei Ling calls Snake a legend in MGS, so already then he made a name for himself. Besides we meet Snake first, it's kinda like Big Boss is the clone of Snake...lol.

Big Boss is a legend gone bad (due to reasons we've seen from MGS3 and MGS: Portable Ops).

Solid Snake is a legend as well. Being the "genetic son" of Big Boss and having defeated the legendary soldier TWICE (and his armies of Outer Heaven) by himself. I'd say that counts him as a legend since he pretty much did it all single-handedly. Oh and lets not forget those NUCLEAR TANKS CALLED METAL GEARS...he beat a lot of those as well!!!!

Then in MGS, Snake beats practically all of the renegade FOXHOUND group as well as Metal Gear REX. MGS2 he's more behind the scenes but still plays a crucial role and he's back in the saddle in MGS4.

I'd say Solid Snake is much more of a legend than Big Boss.
