Harley looks a little better here than the promo pictures, but WTF is going on with Wonder Woman's head....

Darkseids light up eyes look amazing.

I wondered how long Mezco could go without a ****** release. That Batman is a ball of WTF??? Short wrestler wrist tape gauntlets, two baby sized fins? That promo pic yesterday had me on edge, I feel like Vince McMahon just swerved me. Other that Bats and Wolverine, and Wonder Woman's laughable proportions, I am pretty happy with the reveals.

Yeah, what I imagined from that promo yesterday vs. what ended up being shown today is a let down. I still think that head/cowl sculpt is wonderful though.

But the tactical quality is just too much. It looks more like the Arkham/TDK SWAT man look than a 1930s strongman/noir Detective.

Abso-****in-lutely. I got so excited when I saw the head on this page, and, as I scrolled down, it was like /dreams. Nobody gives the Golden Age enough love. I'd buy the **** out of this:

I just hope they take a look at places like these and they realize were telling them exactly how to hit it out of the park for free.

would bet they are not lookin to be honest, been pretty obvious that sticking to the source is important and has been said all over toy forums yet they insist on tweaking stuff. even kev smith posted a pic with the DKR bats praising it, if that wasn't a big enough sign to stick to source material then i dunno what else could have hammered the point home more yet... its not heard.

It's a shame too because that headsculpt is fantastic. Even better than the TDKR Miller ones they did. I mean look at that thing, it's the right balance of comic book and realism.

Too bad he sucks from the neck down. They'd have saved so much money if it was just a simple grey leotard without all those vinyl overlays. Just literally make it like the TDKR Batman, maybe with a darker grey. Even the boots and gloves are unnecessarily complicated with the brass knuckles, Kevlar pieces and combat boots with laces. That could have all been simple, perhaps a gloss finish on Batman's boots.


Had they made it like these customs, they'd still look realistic without looking cartoony (or whatever it is Mezco is afraid of doing). I'd have bought two of them.

agreed DiFabio would have sold much better and also cheaper to manufacture. maybe we are the minority and these McMez Twist things sell like hot cakes? must be a reason they keep forcing their own twist on these designs.

Go for it! They responded to me about TDKR armored Batman. If they see this isn't the design collectors want, hopefully they will change it. In fact, all of you, if you have a problem with the first-appearance Batman design, message Mezco on Facebook or Twitter. This is how we change things!

Yeah, those first appearance designs are cool. DC Direct made a first appearance line, and they're pretty good overall. Updated Mezco versions would've been awesome though. Oh well...

It's odd, they made a classic Shazam and classic Dr. Strange and Iron Man, but they do their own interpretation of the first appearance Batman.

I will say this, if Snyder and Co. weren't in charge and I was making a huge Batman reboot solo film today, the look of this Mezco "Ascending Knight" figure is probably what I would pursue for the look of the first film's costume. I love the ears and short gloves without the gauntlets. Give him some trunks (not undies), a pouch belt and regular boots with smooth shin bracers and maybe a holster on his belt and you'd have a rad looking retro film Batman.
