Black Spidey has a daredevil like suit (I think pleather) as shown at the toy fair whereas he had a cloth materiel in the prototype. Looks better but not sure about durability. Also they changed Old man Logans pants from yellow to brown which makes it look bland in my opinion, whereas it stood out more before. :slap

Anybody here shift the majority of their active collecting from HT to Mezco?

All I own are HTs. I've built an Avengers team (IM, Cap, Thor, Spider-Man, and waiting for IW Hulk), but wanted a "fun" version of IM that was more "playable." The fact that Mezco is coming out with a classic version made it an easy PO. Figured that'd be it -- one and done with Mezco, back to HTs.

But... I kept watching and reading reviews on other one:12 collective figures, and have pretty much completely gone through this thread. Now I have SDCC Cap and classic Spider-Man coming in this week. If/when they come out with a classic Thor and Hulk, I'll get those too.

The price-point, playability, yet still remarkably high attention to detail with the sculpts, paint, and soft goods is super appealing to me. And I also really enjoy how its still got a high-end feel with its packaging and display stands.

For you guys and gals that primarily collect the one:12 stuff, am I hooked??

I get mine next Tuesday can't wait

Hook line and sinker

You dont just buy one, my friend. I will likely have at least 2 more by years end. They are expensive but the quality is off the charts.

Just to add another perspective to the discussion- I actually only have bought one one:12 collective figure- the original TDKR Batman. It's a great figure, but I haven't ordered any other one:12 figures since then.

I hope so! I've just been waiting for another must-have for my collection to be announced (most likely a Batman that isn't a Mezco original or full of Mezflair!).

Same here, although I just ordered the ascending knight!

This line seriously needs a simple classic comic book Batman.

I think after the 3 mezco versions we'll get back to classic batmen

I'm in the reverse. I feel like I have too many 1/12 which distract from the collection. While they have a lot of details, they don't have that 1/6 level of detail. The shelf presence is also minimised as they have less visual punch.

As for myself I've pretty much given up on Hot Toys as well. I've sold most of my HT collection, and considering selling the rest. The problem with Hot Toys figures is the articulation. I can't pose them like I want to. That's a huge problem for me. And they are too big/take too much space. Also, I had an extremely bad experience with my Knightmare Batman that fell off because the articulations on the feet was becoming loose. It didn't break when it fell off, but I sold it right away. When something this huge and big fall, there are a lot of chances something will break.
I really like the 1/12 format a whole lot better. The Mezco figures are extremely posable while almost having the level of details Hot Toys figures have. And when you put them together with each other, it looks a lot better than having an army of Hot Toys.
Of course if you compare two of the same character, Hot Toys figures are done better, more details, more accurate. You can't argue that. But on the whole, Mezco wins for me. I mostly only collect Mezco now.

Depends on what you're after. While they can be beautiful, I don't do statues because they're completely static, and lack the extra bit of realism that mixed media confers. I used to collect 6-inch figures (mostly imports) but I found they lacked the visual impact of 1/6 scale, and ultimately I wanted the level of detail and accuracy one can get from Hot Toys products.

I do like some of One:12 Collective's offerings, but see them as a totally different, niche product. I think they're often compared to Hot Toys because of the tailored soft goods, but the comparison realistically ends there. Paint apps, proportions, fidelity...not even close, with maybe the exception of those Star Trek figures. Doesn't mean they aren't a cool product, though.

As for articulation, HT gives me enough that I can switch them up subtly when the mood strikes me, but I generally use iconic, museum poses anyway. Mezcos are great (at least the ones not buried in Mez-flair, IMO) but they're really apples and oranges compared to HT.

This is why I used to love Play Arts. Not to big and not to small, the perfect scale imo. What a shame they went to crap
