Absolutely - couldn't agree more.

Exactly. Just because you can CGI something, doesn't mean you should. CGI is making practical effects a dying art. I really can't believe that a CGI T-rex will ever look better than the T-rex puppet in Jurassic Park. There is just a certain depth or texture or realness CGI lacks. A dotted ball on set can never replace an actual creature effect. The turtles looked (and still do) great in the previous films. There was no reason to stray from those type of effects. CGI should only be used as an enhancing tool, not a primary effect.

I've said this time and time again. The reason Practical is dying and CGI rules the movie world is because of all your HD and 3D tvs and movie screens.

That's the reason to go CG with movies today, real effects look bad and fake with High Definition screens. All that detail makes the Practical look pretty bad or so they say.

I Used to HATE CGI but after I read about this I can understand where they are coming from. Everyone wants High Definition but no one understands that the practical effects don't look good in those screens

Where did you get that BS? :lol

I was really really pissed about how they were doing the bad guys in the hobbit CG and i remember reading interviews about it. I think someone even posted a link about it in the hobbit thread.
everything started because of the hobbit,
But that was the reason the THING prequel was CGI over real effects, People complained the real effects looked cheesy and stupid

Really? Because it's the exact opposite. a HD tv will easier expose a CG'd effect vs. a practical one.

I'd rather then just do Bebop and rocksteady instead of freaking ultroms. They have the ooze in this movie. They can do it.
