Can't be worse then M Nights Avatar the Last Airbender LOL. Kids were even upset by that travesty.

Remember this?

But he was the next Spielberg indeed :lol

From 'Close Encounters' to 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'.

So, the "cheesy" Nick Turtles got nominated for an Emmy for best animated show. Knocked The Simpsons out of the running for the first time since they debuted.

None of that "modernization" was necessary and it's up for awards. Plus the number one selling boy's toy line. Funny how that works isn't it?

Batman the Animated series.

No, I meant that Batman the animated series is another example of another great cartoon with a successful toy line, however it was modernized and it was for the better, in fact, the Arkham games modernized the Animated Series with success, they even have the same voice talent for various main characters.

If you want to count the Nolan trilogy, also modernized Batman with success, TAS wouldn't have worked in a live action movie.

Oh ok, but there is a point to be made with what I mentioned, as you'd appreciate. :)

How do briefs suddenly not make sense anymore?

Everything about superheroes is ridiculous and larger than life. The designs have been fine for the last seventy odd years.

I believe one of the reasons for the briefs was to get the look of the athletes/strongmen of the time.

That's why they don't make sense anymore, it wasn't "suddenly" but they do not make sense.

Just because comic books have ridiculous paraphernalia doesn't mean they have to be ridiculous about everything just for the sake of being ridiculous.

As for the designs, it's been a while since Superheroes both Marvel and DC stopped wearing briefs and utterly ridiculous costumes and that is a good thing.
