Planned and announced are two different things no? The sequel may not actually open June 3rd, 2016, but it will come.

I've also heard there was a guaranteed trilogy clause in the rights contract. So who knows.

I'm hoping for a little retcon, but it will not be anything as drastic as G.I Joe.

All comes down to the dollars. if the sales are not there, we will see nothing. if they are, then REGARDLESS of how terrible the movie is, they will keep dumping all over it.

All i'm saying is lets wait and see what the second weekend box office numbers are.

Lerath & his precious love affair with the chosen whiner. :lol
lol

Ahhh It saw this coming :lol

Well for starters, it's naive to think this won't get a sequel.

Then, people will start to bash the movie along with the designs and the new turtles, using the fact that it's a bad movie, to lump the new turtles with their whining.

It's a baaaaad movie.

But the turtles in it are great.

that's what i've been hearing, though it's my understanding that they're not enough to pull the movie out of crapville?

That, and i've heard that they billed mikey a Surfer Horndog, and this makes every scene with him and april very uncomfortable?

not going to spend cash on this, gonna wait for netflix.

Lol I've never heard anything about Mickey making things uncomfortable, that's crazy talk.

Will Arnett makes everything uncomfortable.

The turtles, as good they were, weren't enough to save the movie, that's correct, but it was because the turtles weren't used as characters as much as they were used as plot devices and props, which is sad to see such great personalities wasted like that.

Watch the black nerd review a couple pages back, he nails the movie completely, it's got spoilers but I guess you won't mind.

In a nutshell, yes.

They were enough for me to enjoy it. The first 15-20 mins are a bit of a chore because you're waiting for the Turtles to just show up dammit! Megan is fine as April but her story line isn't captivating enough to make up for the lack of Turtles in the beginning. It's just a 'thing' to lead her (and us) to the Turtles. But once they are on screen it's MUCH better, tons of fun and they work.

The Mikey/April thing was funny for me. Not creepy at all. No creepier than him stealing the phone from Donnie and kissing her over it in TMNT II.

Whether you're willing to part with your $$ to see it is up to you though. But it's worth a watch. Once it gets going it doesn't let up. That last hour just speed by like a giant Turtle hopped up on adrenaline.

It is worth the ticket just to see the Turtles.

Play with your phone or something when the turtles aren't around, and watch the movie when they pop out :lol I don't think anything else in the movie deserves you attention.

Why waste the money like this? The message this sends to studios is that they can keep making crap with no effort from the writers and director and still make money... It's rewarding laziness and poor filmmaking...

Oh you guys... :lol

You make is sound like we're bankrolling the Nazi's by going see this. :dunno God forbid we find some enjoyment in it! :horror :monkey3

Can't wait for the Amazing Teenage Mutant Spider Ninja Turtles 2! April goes back to community college where she befriends archnerd Jimmy Krang to do all her homework for her. Upon meeting the turtles, he blackmails April into getting blood samples so he can get even smarter and apply for an ivy league school. Once mutated he becomes exosuit crazy while shriveling up into a pulsating cerebral mass.

He recruits his black nerd friend Baxter Stockman (who is a huge fan of the turtles) and injects him with the same stuff only he doesn't notice a fly in the goop. Blaming the turtles for his gruesome transformation into a man-fly, Baxter goes on a rampage and builds an army of mousers powered by the city's electrical grid. Krang pushes Baxter to create so many that it causes a blackout for the whole city. The turtles eventually gain the upper hand and out of desperation, Baxter takes April hostage by a nearby clocktower. During the battle, Baxter drops April and she falls for about 5 minutes until she
stubs her toe thumb and dies
.

In their rage, the Turtles beat Baxter into a pulp with Krang joining in for a ridiculously extended final fight where they cause his exosuit to short circuit and cook his brain body. The epilogue has them starting a fight with an exosuit Rocksteady and Bebop. The end?

I'm guessing all this animosity for the film is because Meagan Fox told all the fanboys to **** off.

AMIRITE??

I hope we get another reboot as soon as the "Bay-turtles" films come to an end. Hopefully next time they'll use A-list level talent behind and in front of the camera, like DC/WB and Marvel/Disney. It doesn't need to be dark and realistic like a Nolan style film either. I just want a great film with some turtles in it, and it can be fun and colorful, just like GOTG, Avengers, and Capt 3, and still be taken seriously as a film.
