Why did he want TMNT? I don't recall the turtles blowing something up every 5 seconds...

:lol

When both Ghostbusters and Turtles figures came out in the late 80s, early 90s they were the most popular things on the shelves by far. The Ghostbusters line was gigantic and had tons and tons of merch and tie ins everywhere to go along with the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Now granted it's not as relevant anymore but in the 80s the GB toy lines were just as big money makers as Transformers and Turtles easily.

:goodpost::exactly:

:lol what? The turtles toys were the highest sellers this past summer, they couldn't keep them on the shelves. The current cartoon is huge and quite good. It's already been greenlit for a 3rd (20+episodes each) season and they haven't finished the first.

Actually, you answered your own post, and mine with your second paragraph. Turtles are still relevant today. As were Transformers back in 05-06.

I just hope theis film doesn't destroy how good the cartoon series is. This film's being made for that current generation of 'kids', they'll most probably compare the film to the current tv show.

I wasn't trying to answer anything, I was just pointing that out about the GB stuff in the 80s.

Nick's new TMNT was not launched before this was announced however nor were the toy lines so this was basically a gamble based on the 80s/early 90s success.

:exactly: I'm praying Akroyd doesn't lose the license to Ghostbuster to this clown...

God, I hope he doesn't read this forum, and i just didn't give anyone with money an idea....:slap

Actually, if Bay got it, the movie would ACTUALLY GET MADE  :monkey4  :slap :pfft:

Because they make money. And i'm getting sick of everyone being wrong about who's making this film.

The mother ****er who did Battle LA, Darkness Falls, and Wrath of the Titans is making this movie. Bay is just the producer. He's leaving him alone. The only thing he probably did was fix the Turtles back to being mutants due to fan outcry, and adding Megan Fox.

Jesus. Bay hate is even more cliched and nonsensical then his movies are.

Yeah, I would actually be happy IF Bay was making this. He would make it look nice, Bay has a good eye for that. His movies always look great.

Jonathan Liebesman is one of the worst people working in Hollywood.

He will mess this up, he will mess this up so bad, you wish Bay was the one making this.

But then again, if Battle LA guy can make a good movie out of this....then there you go. I have no hope for this film.

Clash felt like a film where large chunks of scenes were taken out during the editing process.

Wrath felt like large chunks of scenes were never written to begin with.

The Transformers films are terrible. But there are far worse directors out there. And Pain and Gain was pretty good. Maybe OK to most. But no one gave it a chance because of their awful bais.

I'm not a giant Paul WS Anderson fan...i'll even say I dislike most of his work. But Death Race was a fun film. Even as a fan of the original, it was really entertaining. He did a good job. I hate the Resident Evil flicks. But so what.

I'll give credit where credit is due.

And because one decision was made, doesn't mean everything else is Bay's call.

I like the first Bad Boys. It was a fun buddy action comedy. The second was way to over the top(for me). Transformers 1-3 are horrible. I love The Rock.

Do I think he is a terrible director? Yes. But even I acknowledge he didn't write the crap. He fails to elevate it beyond being crap though. He fails to get anything from his actors.

Is he the worst Director working right now.... He is certainly in the running. But even that title is subjective to taste. He's not mine.

The problem I have is he's just the typical whipping boy. It doesn't make you a better film fan if you hate Michael Bay. It just makes you cliche.

Not saying you have to be a fan or anything. It's just the typical "OMGZ BAY **** HIM WORST EVER" is just so old. Considering he just made a movie that wasn't anything like his last 3. No one gives him credit for it.

Sad thing is I think will arnett will play col shrader from the leaked script. We haven't gotten casting for shredder and surprisingly Casey jones. So I'm guessing will arnett is the bad guy sadly. I really do t have a clue where they wanna take this movie.

I do wish Bay was directing this. I really do, he would at least make the movie look cool.

Nothing good can come from Jonathan Liebesman. He is the worst director working right now.

I'm gonna wait for a trailer and some comic con info but right now I'm on edge. I'm a huge turtle fan and I'm afraid this movie is going to suck.
