Yup! I dunno why they couldn't go back to this and just do CG heads?

I'd take just CG heads over full body.

Where the Wild Things Are-esque would have been the smarter way to go. Unless they intend to drastically change the mo-cap actors proportions, there's no reason they couldn't have made body suits and still do performance capture for the faces.

Mo-capping their facial expressions while they wear the suit would of been perfect. But that would require "acting."

Nothing will beat these...

:goodpost::exactly:
THEY were perfect just reuse the same recipe with a new story.

Yea its terrible we are getting a new movie but i’ll reserve judgement till i see a trailer.

I understand Jim hensen died after the first but damn atleast try to have a little bit of imagination:lol

The problem is, they already had a vastly popular cartoon in syndication and when the movie debut, it was more in tune with the comic (still wish they'd given them all red headbands), so it was dark and kinda serious, but embraced aspects of the show (like the headband colors and weird pizza toppings), so kids naturally flocked to it. It's one of the reasons why they toned down the sequel and essentially took away their ninja weapons for improvised weapons. From a business standpoint, I guess it made sense because there's more $$$$ to be had in family ticket sales than date-night ticket sales.

For the third film all was going ahead well with the Jim Henson Company including the same actors for Mickey and Donatello. Unfortunatley a new company came in and underbid the Henson Company by more than half and we recieved that trash.

I have an interview with Sisti (Michaelangelo) here that has a paragraph about that and heaps of other awesome behind the scenes info on the turtles movie. I love how he got the part aswell, classic!!

Damn Nam I didnt know you were a turtles fan. Yea the 1st movie took alot of influence from the mirage comic. Raph being beat up was a homage to Leo being beat up in the comics and the shredder looked alot like his Mirage counterpart.
I admire them for taking an unknown comic to the masses and incorporating it into the movie while still having the sillyness of the cartoon.

And yes you could tell by the second movie they started to take notes from the fred wolf cartoon. Why they put tokka and Razor in instead of Bebop and rocksteady I'll never know. Third movie was just atrocious.

:( I remember buying issue #1 when it came out and at the time had no real appreciation for comics, so it got thrashed to all hell with rolling it up and sticking it in my back pocket, all the re-reads, tracing of Laird's art, etc. :lol

I think I followed it all the way through the dimension deal with the Triceratops people and then stopped. Moved to NorCal and there wasn't a comic shop near me, so my collecting died for a few years.

Off topic now (sorry), but the only comic book I ever bought back in school, was the McFarlane Spidey issue with the first appearance of Carnage.

Wish I kept that too. :lol
