Can't wait to see a no talent model playing April. O boy I'm even more excited to see the army step in and fight the foot while the turtles sit back and talk slang

Easy there dude... Tim Burton has an actual ARTISTIC vision...

LOL
I meant, about the cliches that burton keeps using, in that sense he is becoming Bay, people expect those cliches now, but at the same time people make fun of them

There's a difference between producer and director people seem to not understand in any way.

:lol

Not Bay. He actually helps young filmmakers out on their first flick. Shows them the ropes, gives feedback, allows them to have a career.

The guy who directed Darkness Falls, which failed, then directed Texas Chainsaw The Beginning, which then landed him the job to do Battle LA, which then allowed him to do Wrath of the Titans.

While I ain't a fan of those movies. It's still awesome. Pretty much the main reason why I like the guy so much. :lecture

Because he's trying to make an out of date property actually mean something now? :lol

I got news for ya, they can't sell Turtles to older people any more. No money in it. It's about the current generation. :lol

Well he could get off his ass and come up with his own ideas to make a new franchise to make money off of.

Anyone is an _______ for reviving a franchise and destroying what made it so great. But I don't have to see it and I won't , nor will I argue much about cause there is no point. Guy is still an _______.

^ Dude, original ideas do not sell. Period. Sometimes they do, but it's ALL ABOUT BRAND RECONITION now.

Original movies are a gamble. No matter how good they are. Transformers, Turtles, Spider-Man, Batman, ect....Kids are aware what those are. Regardless if they're fans of it or not.

The only reason Inception made any money was because of The Dark Knight and Christopher Nolan. It's very, very rare for an original movie to make a ____ load of money.

That's the fact now. Period. And it's not going end soon. Once they tap the comic book well dry, video games will be next. Only instead of once every few years, it'll be all the ____ing time.

All that matters now is this. Can they make a good movie with that idea. That's it.

Hell, Bay has made pretty much all "original" movies. Aside from Bad Boys 2, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers. Of course, that was when movie stars brought people in. He did the Island, which wasn't that bad, and that pretty much flopped.

Now it's "Oh this is based off whatever the ____, lets go see it durr".

There are still plenty of movies that come every year that are original ideas or at least not direct reboots or sequels that I think we will be alright. You may tell some truth but you are blowing it way out of proportion. I am sure if you look at every movie released in a year there are more that are original than either part of an existing franchise or a reboot.

Sure. Look at the highest grossing films of each year.

https://boxofficemojo.com/yearly/

Out of that list, 10 movies (I believe) were original films. Out of 30 years, 10 original, non sequel, non remake films dominated the box office. And most of those were during the 80's, few in the 90's, and only 1 in the 2000's. Bet you can't guess that one. :lol

Hell, if you even look through all the years, during the 2000's, see how many in the top 10 were original films.

And the thing is, it's not to say that an original film won't make any money...but it won't make as much. And this business is ALL about Money. Brands sell more.

I understand it is all about money but thankfully there are still people out there who believe in an original idea over the bottom line. When that day comes, and maybe it will happen soon, thank god there is Netflix and DVDs and thousands upon thousands of original movies I have never seen yet.

Well, yeah. Independent films.

And it's not that they don't believe in original ideas. Bay's even making a low budet flick based off a crime that happened in Florida. If that counts. Not based off any franchise, no action, character film...ect....

But you think that movie is going to make any money? Probably enough to break even. People don't go see Transformers for Bay, or Shia, maybe they did for Megan Fox :)naughty). They go see it because they've heard of the name before.
