I with you pix but it's so lopsided in favor of Lennon that it's not worth arguing about. Besides, overshadowing someone on their day of death and remembrance is tacky.

RIP Farrah somebody :monkey3

It makes me sad Hot Toys didn't go with the Thriller version of Michael. Is there something about the clothing he wore (red leather jacket) that is copyrighted or something? Why wouldn't you make the most recognizable version? I hope they release something else. I would buy it, because that is how I remember him.

I was on a day trip...out of town...
a friend of mine called me with the news...
I'm in shock...
this is a very sad day....
I really can't articulate my thoughts...
A genius left us...
I'm grateful to have witnessed his magic and artistry...
That's all I'm going to say...

This will always be colossal to the music industry!

I am just curious if any freaks cry when a much loved celebrity dies?

I can understand being upset by the loss, but have never fully understood when people cry for someone they have never actually known :dunno

Crying is deeply personal for me, and only done when someone extremely close to me dies. I have only cried for one person in my life, my father. Crying is usually pretty difficult for me when it comes to mourning. When a celeb I really like dies I usually feel bad for a little bit, but largely get over it in a day or so, or much sooner.

Just wondered how a deah of a celebrity affectas some of you.

I am pretty much the same way.

I get depressed if it was one I really identified with or one that I felt empathy for. Sometimes you spend so much time listening to their music you feel like they are a close friend.

The only celebrity death that made me shed a tear was.... wait for it.... George Harrison. Seriously. When I watched his tribute with all his friends singing his favorite song (I'll See You In My Dreams) it touched me.

I think I got misty when Harrison died. I'll surely cry when my heroes Clive Barker and Neil Gaiman die unless it's while going ape^^^^ and killing younglings or something.

Were you crying for the loss of George Harrison, or by the sentiment of the moment?

But he didn't even have that hard of a life.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

:lol

I don't think you need to have known someone personally to feel a connection with them, especially with a writer or musician, to have them affect your life in a meaningful way and to grieve their passing.

I can't remember if I cried when I heard Hunter Thompson killed himself and Kurt Vonnegut died, but probably. Yeah, the monkey cries over novelists. :monkey2

Today was my wife's birthday and it was kind of a downer because we spent almost the whole party gathered around the tube watching CNN. I am sad too. They were showing video of him back in the Jackson 5 days and it made me feel really sad. Like I said before. such a talent and charisma at such an early age. truly he was an original.
