If we're talking crazy contracts. how about the Blue Jays giving Russell Martin 5/82. Thats quite along time to sign an 31 year old catcher with that kind of mileage behind the plate.

Yep, a player option, according to the rumors. Miami gets all of his productive years, he opts out and then a certain team, ahem, gives him another $40 million a year until he's 40.

I'm optimistic about both deals. I like the way the lineup is coming together. The focus needs to move towards pitching now. The Sox still need at the very least 2 starters. I just hope these 2 deals don't kill a possible Lester return.
