I want a sweep :D

I don't want to have to worry about the series when I go to work on Monday. I wanna walk around with a big ass grin on my face all day.

I've already got my celebration planned, I'm pulling into work cranking "Shipping Up To Boston" from Dropkick Murphys loud and proud!!!

3-0!!!

Man what a battle, scary at times, but that was exciting baseball.

Too exciting for my taste. I felt like I got hit in the stomach when Holliday hit that homer. But it all ended well and we're up 3-0. I just want this thing finished tomorrow night. And how about a 2 and a half hour game instead of the marathon we got tonight?

That would be nice, but not likely, especially with Lester, I like him, but I think he came back off the cancer too soon and doesn't have all his stuff this year and I see us hitting the bullpen after 4 or 5 innnings.

Bullpen was shakey last night. I'm just glad they got the 3 runs back in the bottom of the 8th. I did not want to see DelCarmen come in for the 8th with only a 1 run lead, or see Paplebon have to try to get a 6 out save. And I never thought I'd see Lugo save a game with his defense.

I guess Aaron Cook, tonight's starter for the Rockies, hasn't pitched in two months. It's looking like this could very well end up be a sweep, which is fine with me. I'd like to be able to watch Heroes tomorrow night, and the fewer nights I have to stay up past midnight the better. Sweep= sleep. :D

Lester hasn't started in a while either, and he had rough outings of relief in the playoffs, I have no predictions on this game, just going to have to stick it through the whole way. Papelbon and Ohkajima weren't on their game, but they said Papelbon told the press the altitude was getting to him, and Ohk had a long outing the other night, I'd rather take a loss tonight, let those 2 rest and recoup, then let Beckett give us 7 innings Monday, let Ohk come in for the 8th and Papelbon end it in the 9th and win it all.

Yeah, that's the one thing that concerns me about tonight. Those two have thrown a lot of pitches over the last two games and if they are used tonight, and the Rockies end up winning the game, they probably wouldn't be available tomorrow night. I'd actually rather see Timlin, DelCarmen, and even Gagne tonight, even in a close game.

I hope the offense pours it on again tonight. I'd love to see Lester get the win.

I'd rather they go all out to win tonight. Go for the jugular. Don't let it even enter Colorado's head that winning is a possibility.

Beckett can always go 8 or 9 in an elimination game tomorrow if the bullpen is worn up. He definitely had an inning or two more in him when they pulled him in game 1.

I really think that tonight's game won't be that close. This Sox team is great at piling on. They sense blood, and I think they'll go in for the kill. They'll score early and often. If Lester can go 4 or 5 holding the Rockies to that many runs, we'll be fine.

I hope.

I'm enjoying Spooktacular, and I love Halloween, but tonight is what October is all about.

World Series Game 4, live from Denver, Colorado

Boston Red Sox at Colorado Rockies

Red Sox leading the series 3 games to none, looking to sweep the Rockies.

Can the Rockies fight off elimination? We'll find out soon as we get set for what could be the final game of this 2007 World Series.

Pedroia, Ellsbury, Youkilis, Papelbon, Ortiz, Ramirez, Ohkajima....The Red Sox look to their hot stars for everything they've got.

LET'S GO RED SOX!!!

That was actually a really good game. Rox got it close (I still don't understand why you bring an overworked Okajima in) and Papelbon shut the door again.

Just like in 2004, it seems a bit anti-climatic to sweep after such a stressful ALCS. But I'll take it any way I can get it.

Well Jerry Remy raised the issue/point in post game coverage that several teams in the AL who didn't make it actually have better stacked teams than the teams of the NL, right now it seems the AL has the strongest teams in the game so this type of series is getting to be commonplace almost.

I have to say, I was shocked to sweep, I had higher expectations for the Rockies not just because of what they've done to get into the World Series, but just being a team in there no matter what, you should be a competitive team and they just didn't look like they should be in a championship series.

Eh. The Rockies played the worst they've played all year and from what I saw of the Sox this year, the Sox played their best.

The Sox out played the Rox in every game, but to say the Rox didn't belong there is pretty ungracious and a bit like rubbing salt in the wounds.

Had the series started on the 20th or 21st I think the series would have been much more competitive. For a team as hot as the Rox were having the 8 days off was just too much to bare and then the Sox everything they touched came up roses.

No excuses though, the Sox played so well they probably could have beat anyone in any situation. I just feel bad for baseball fans because they really didn't see what the Rox are about in this series, but trust me, they belonged there.
