Actually, one of my favorite parts of the 2006 season, Papelbon, as part of a bet shaved his head like Wild Thing and every time he came out they played the song, it was so cool watching him play and having that song going.

Enjoy the game... I'm going to try and watch it but I really was an Expos fan so I haven't really enjoyed watching baseball since the strike shortened season of (was it '90?) when the Spos should have met the Yanks in the World Series that was never played...

Oh well. I have enjoyed a few games at Fenway with a frank and a warm beer.

Hope it's a good one... and Manny gets a chance to just be Manny.

That was a nerve wracking game until the bottom of the 8th. We got a lot of lucky breaks but we made the most of them. One can only hope the long layoff will have the same affect on the Rockies as it did the Tigers last year.

I was cussing up a storm when Lugo dropped that pop up. Luckily the 3rd base coach held Lofton up at 3rd on that ball down the line. If he sends him the score is tied and the whole complexion of the game changes.

Pedroia and Youkilis are on fire! Francona is going to have some tough decisions to make when the series moves to Colorado and they lose the DH. Obviously Ortiz plays 1st base, but you can't take Youk's bat out of the lineup if he's still pounding the ball. You could move him to 3rd, but that takes Lowell, who is also playing well, out of the lineup. Youkilis has played some outfield. Do you dare try him in right and move Drew to center? It'll be interesting to see how they play this.

Actually, I predict that unless Papi's on fire, they'll bench him in Colorado and use him as a pinch hitter and leave Youk and Lowell in, you simply can't take their defense away and with the numbers Papi's puttig up of late compared to those two, home run hitter isn't worth a strong defender and batter.

I can't see them sitting Ortiz out more than one game in Colorado. Chances are they will rotate the three of them. I agree, I'd feel more comfortable with Youkilis at first, but Ortiz has been fine over there when they've needed to use him in the past. Then again, he didn't have a bum knee before. If he does start games at 1st in the series he definitely won't be in there in the late innings.

The one thing I'm pretty certain about is that the Rox will be putting on a defensive clinic for the Red Sox.

You guys might return the favor as far as starting pitching goes though.

Your advantage of having an everyday player coming in to PH is pretty strong too.

I'm hurting already, I may have to opt out and sleep, it was a long day at work today already, still haven't covered from game 6 & 7 of the ALCS, the Sox sure test the limits of us the fans, but we love them anyway.

13-1 Sox after 5, way to go guys! Going to be a long series though, so off to bed I go, if they blow this lead they should just call it a season and hide in shame.
