Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

What if we only want the neck?

Option 1: Bin the head
Option 2: Sell the head
Option 3: Make a empty cowl for bruce to hold

:dunno

I doubt you will find anyone selling *just* the neck. Not unless you convince someone on here or something

You might be able to convince me.

I'm thinking of selling my v1 TDK, but with all the DX accessories (PERS and Sonar headsculpt, stand, etc.). I assume someone who's interested in that won't really need the v1 headsculpt and neck.

In which case, I might be willing to sell the neck and keep the head for my own purposes...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

haytil, PM me if you are serious.

I am all over that. :panic:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Thanks for the comments guys. It adds allot to the figure. Yes the head can move all around. I was able to talk a seller on eBay to sell me just a neck for 10 dollars

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Yeah good point. Still £30 seems steep for an old head that most wouldn't want nowadays...

It is a bit steep for something your virtually going to destroy. And if it goes tits up your out £30! I also have the V1 Bats, but don't want to ruin it just to give the DX a thicker shorter neck or something.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Yes, that is weird. The 1st and 2nd batch DX are the exact same figures, they're just defective. They're not "variants." And they're not pumping them out like crazy - they're quickly becoming very scarce, it seems.

Wanting to grab another DCD figure so you can display both headsculpts, though? That's not weird. I might even admit that grabbing a third (so you can display each faceplate) isn't weird...or a fourth, so you can have a maskless Bruce Wayne with the Bale headsculpt.

My goal would be to have three - one for each sculpt (Sonar, PERS, Wayne). I certainly wouldn't turn down four (Two PERS sculpts, so I can use each faceplate), but even if it weren't so scarce, I couldn't justify spending that much...

Wow. Grabbing FOUR of these seems way weirder than what i proposed doing for two reasons. 1. That is alot of dough to spend on one figure. Seriously, buying another figure just so you don't have to swap heads? Playing with the thing is the BEST part IMHO. 2. Maybe it would be cool to give OTHERS who want to own this a chance to do so? I see quite a few on this thread being met with "sold out" signs. juuuust sayin...

Regarding variation. If one has soft rubber abs and the other hard plastic, how is that not a variation?

My figure just arrived today and he's amazing. He and The Joker are my first Hot Toys and it's really making me want to grab some more, they're leaps and bounds ahead of anything else I have on my shelf.

I do have a quick question, and I'm sure it's probably come up before but...it's a 1000 page thread, please take some pity on me. :) How exactly do you attach the cape to the figure? I'm looking at others' photos and mine isn't looking right. I don't know if I'm attaching it backwards or what, but the part of the tabs inside the cape are causing the cape to stick up weird at the connection point. I'd be more courageous with fiddling with it, but I'm a bit skidding around my $200 figures.

This might be hard to describe in words, but hopefully someone can explain it to me. Thanks.

Did you score another? The temptation was too much for me :lol, BBTS just shipped my 2nd today.

Ya, I ordered 1 yesterday and it's in my pile-o-loot. Waiting for the T800 to be released before I have it shipped.

^^^
Same, my batman has been sitting there since they got them in. Where the hell is my T-800!??? It's been three weeks now since others have got theirs.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

So I've just gotten my second DX bats today (this one from Toynk). It came in it's original shipper, but I notice that there's no tissue paper protecting the package from the cardboard, like I've seen others unbox. The box (as did the last one) shows some wear (smudgy bits, staple indentations from the shipper, etc.) But I suppose mint can only be so mint, given that the thing has to travel here from China. The figure is awesome, with some slight variations from the other one, though they're both from the DCD run. 1st, the decal/armor is significantly darker than the BBTS one I received last week. Secondly, the shoulder armor sticks up just a little bit more.

Strangely, they both seem to have the same looseness in their right arm at the elbow, as if the joint wasn't screwed tight enough. Anyone else notice this?

Regardless, they're both awesome and don't show any significant manufacturing flaws. I'll probably try to trade one for an HT Blade figure down the line, as those seem to be getting harder to find. But I'll sit on it for a little while, just because it's nice to have two for the time being.

Rory,
My box came the same way. Looks the same. You described it to a "T"

Glad to hear I'm not the only one, Vortex. I don't blame Toynk at all, they packaged it really well. The dx box was roughed up by the shipper, and probably handled at the factory without much regard. All and all though, it's not terrible. I suppose I make the packaging sound worse than it is. It's just a little "scuffy" and not absolutely flawless. And the treasure isn't the box, but the figure inside it, which is in perfect condition (though I had to flick the switch a couple times to get the sonar head working after taking out the battery tab).

Couldnt have said it better myself. Mine came from BBTS. No tissue paper either. I would like to think it was because these were inspected for oil before they went out, and they just didn't put it back in. Who knows. Figure is all i care about, so all is good.
