Quick question: Did anyone else order from https://www.dcbservice.com ? I had it on pre-order and it was supposed to ship in may and I haven't heard anything at all.

Yes, I also ordered from them (back around Oct 09). Received it probably a month ago.

You should log in and check. They send things out on a monthly basis. When I used to get my comics from them if something was late, it rolled over into the next months shipment. That being said, my preorder somewhere else was cancelled because the second shipments not coming in. May be the same case for you to, but dcbs will just let it keep rolling over in your cart month to month indefinitly. They're really good guys though and good about refunds.

Alright guys, I think I might not be able to stand looking at my DX02's crossed eyes any more.

Here is my plan to make the eyes move independently.

I will heat up an Exacto blade and remove the "joystick" by cutting/melting through here:

and here:

From what I can tell that should free the eyes up. Hopefully I will be able to use the Exacto blade, or some other tool to move them independently.


What do you all think?

I dont know man. I think I would try and remove the whole unit before I cut stuff.

I was looking at mine and if you pull the metal piece out first? I'm a firm believer in if it went together, then it can come apart. I've seen pictures of the Joker head apart some where on this site.

ok. Got mine apart. Im doing loading pics now

I broke the glue around the plug that goes in. I used a dull knife blade slipped in between the plug and the head and that seemed to work really well.

Looks like the eye unit is also glued in. separate that too. and that should give you access to the eyes themselves. I'm stopping here so your on your own for that.

So when you say a "dull knife" do you mean a butter knife?

well the knife I used was from a multi-tool and isnt very sharp. the main thing is you dont want to cut the soft vinyl of the cowl. You just need something that is thin and can get between the two pieces to separate the glue. So what ever you have that fits that criteria.

Nothing ventured nothing gained, besides I wanted to know how the thing works too.

Wow. Are your eyes really that bad that you want to take it apart?? I dunno. To me it'd seem like a minor flaw. I dont look at the eyes that hard. I mean I'm fine with mine. You're so brave!!

Okay, nobody panic! I haven't dismantaled or cut anything yet! A big thank you to robbie for talking me down!

Her are a couple examples of the "cross eyes" that I speak of:

Depending on the light and angle he can look pretty cross eyed to me, but after much deliberation, I have decided that the eyes are not crossed, but it as an illusion of light and shadow caused buy the frowning cowl.

In this one it looks like his right eye is looking too far left:

But when I used a flash it becomes clear that this is a trick of the shadows:

The following picture is the one that finally convinced me that the eyes are straight:

Hmmm. I am not 100% convinced, I have 2 DX Batmans - one has the cross eye issue, the other doesn't!

But i've managed to pose the cross eyes version in a way that I can't really tell he's cross eyed. So not too bothered anymore.

The following picture is the one that finally convinced me that the eyes are straight:

It looks nice there. Nice shadows as well as sparkles off the eyes.
