Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

The only obvious difference is the belt being completely wraped in a bag on the first few batches and in the last DCD batch the belt only has a wrapper under the belt. A picture and the same question was just posted a few pages back

Thanks, but clearly you haven't seen Maulfan's pics. Actually I was inspired by him. :).

haha guess not...I'll just take the lazy route and stick to looking at your pics :lol

also, do both DX heads connect to the neck with magnets? or does the light up head not disconnect at all from it's neck?

Each head has it's own neck.

The sonar head has a ball joint neck. The ball is the actual light which, when in place shines through the eyes.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

i noticed that in some of the pictures he looks like a giraffe ???
is this like the battle damaged mark 3 from iron man where people had to do neck mods? or is it just the pictures making it look silly?

Part of the problem is poor posing, but out of the box his neck is definitely too long. If you don't want to mod the neck you really need to bow the head to have it look normal at all.

Many have moded the neck to make it shorter.

I had Commtech mod mine. It looks great now! :)

Here's mine without a neck mod, with head bowed way down:

Here he is with the moded neck:

As you can see I don't have to bow his head so low to look natural now.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Following the ideas mentioned above about trimming the inside of the neck to get rid of the giraffe neck look, I tried something and it worked pretty well.
I popped open the neck joint by inserting the tip of a long nose pliers tool in closed position and then I opened the pliers. You will hear a crack but don't fear, the neck splits clean in 2 at the seam. I then dremmeled/shaved the inside tabs that give the height of the ball socket. I wanted the joint to go deeper inside the neck, so using a dime (coin) I set a higher inside wall/tab that would limit how much more the socket and joint would go into the neck. I dremmeled new ridges where the sides of the coin would fit snuggly and then closed and glued back. No joints were cut off and the whole operation stayed inside the neck where you can't see it. Check out the pictures:

Subtle change but gives it a more natural appearance, especially in person!

***UPDATE

All right, I've made an improvement to my neck mod by adding a rubber "o" ring or rubber washer inside the neck to keep the rubber joint inside fitting even nicer and tighter. I also used a small strip of electrical tape around the inside neck joint as well. Check out the pictures of the mod done to Maglor's DX Batman neck:
