I agree with some of that, but there definitely are mods that improve figures.

The DX02 cape is very bulky and doesn't hang in scale to the figure.

The lforigno cape does. The problem is that HT made a really long neck to (in my opinion) compensate for the overly bulky cape, so an accurate cape makes the neck look even more ridiculous. Thus a neck shortening mod makes for an even more perfect figure.

Generally I don't like to do permanent mods to figures for fear of effecting their resale value, but when I do do a mod, permanent or otherwise) it does make me appreciate a figure even more like monkey said.

Agreed, however I've not changed the cape. Mine is still the HT one, and I think it works just fine, but that just me. Oh, and yes that is the HT cape in the picture I posted a few pages back.

Yeah, with careful futzing and the correct use of the plastic tabs, the stock cape can look great, but the customs do hang nicer and pretty much futz themselves.

I cut those plastic tabs off. They're stupid and have no business being there, but yeah I see what you're saying.

I've been modding my figures for years. When I collected Toy Biz Super Hero figures (before their Marvel Legends line) I was always chopping levers off the backs of a character, or boiling, reposing, and freezing an arm or leg that was molded in a funky pose. I tore up a few figures here and there, trying to "fix" them.

Now I'm spending $150-200 per figure instead of $5-8, instead of doing my own mods and risking complete destruction, I pay other people to do them.

I don't think there is a right or wrong look. Unless you're trying to mimic a specific scene or pose it goofy like. The same could be said about the Joker when people said a look was off. There's a ton of different looks across the film, for both characters.

Look at the neck here.

Like here... I just never modded the neck. I've always loved the look of Batty bowing his head in that elegant standing poster pose that was the front cover of some magazines.

Hahahahaha....... true. Honestly though, if you're happy with the figure how it comes that's great. To each his own, whatever floats your boat, and so on.

I have no leaks either anywhere. I'm actually a bit surprised. People started to have me convinced it was inevitable... but it's been a while now and the bicep pieces are still nice and matte.

that's just his medi...he has IMO the best medi out there without any kind of dx pieces added. and his pics just make it look that much better

Thx man. Agreed, that does look impressive. Dang, I still dont have the DX and I'm real tempted, but from looking at the pics...wondering if I should pick up the Medi instead. That looks sweet!

I've been checking out those Medi mods and they do look impressive. I not really sure if I wanted to do all the mods though that's why I'm tempted to just pick up the DX. That picture though is making it hard to decide, lol

I've been checking out those Medi mods and they do look impressive. I not really sure if I wanted to do all the mods though that's why I'm tempted to just pick up the DX. That picture though is making it hard to decide, lol

haha totally agree! but man vodoun put some heavy time into that medi to make it look like that. Honestly, I love my modded Medi, but If I had the $$$ to buy the DX first, I would have, leaky or not. I'm a stickler for accuracy and that's what kills me about not having a DX. No matter how much you mod the medi, it wont be as accurate as the DX unless you go Thrust's route with combining the two.

Depends on if your willing to do such extensive modes as vodoun did to his. Personally, i'd just buy the DX. It's amazing. But there is something about the medi dark knight figure that just keeps drawing you back in.

The DX cowl and mouthpieces are senational in hand so it's scary to think what vodoun's medi head looks like in person!

yea something I thought about is trying to mod the medi mouth to fit the DX mouth pieces which would give you a total of 4 mouth pieces. wouldn't that be awesome?

I've never seen the DX mouth pieces in hand, but I really want the angry mouth

That would be awesome!

My favorite of the 3 is the neutral mouth. The other one, which looks like he's talking, is perfect for the sonar head. The angry one is cool! I'm always changing them

I always thought the angry one was perfect for sonar, neutral for PERS.
