Hey, you're from Kent like Dorgmal Snow. Do you guys know one another? (excuse my ignorance if Kent proves to be a large English city of many hundreds of thousands and you have no clue of whom I'm speaking).

I have no idea who or what Dorgmal Snow is. Haha. But no, Kents not some huge City or anything. It is a county that i guess is fairly large so being from Kent certainly doesnt mean we'd know each other, but its certainly not compared to, i imagine, big cities and what not in America.

As for the other replies, i feel really bad for inadvertently instigating a bit of a feud between some board members. Just wanna say that i do appreciate everyone's advice. And for the record Maglor did PM me with some advice and recommended i contact some of the more well known customisers here on the board for more advice and help, which i appreciated (thanks again for that), but im not taking sides in any arguments. As i said, i appreciate everyones advice, Nam, Mag, Voudoun, Ouroborus (which incidentally is my PSN name ), its great to get the different sides of everything and way up my options and know that there's plenty of people here trying to help me out however they can.

Everyone here has great advice, but personally, I kinda side with Mags here.
First, its real easy for everyone to say just take her to court, but when you are in that person's shoes, its not as easy going through something that's personal. I'm sure many of you have been in situations where the other party did you wrong, and yet, all you want to do is just forget about it and move on. I think that's why Russell mentioned several times he'd rather not go that route. I can relate, one of my ex-GF still has my guitar and amp, lol.

As far as the figure, if we are talking $150-200, sure I would just buy another and not worry about the hassle. But we're talking about a $500-600 figure. Basically, his option is try to fix it, and sure it could be quite easy, or it may be a damn major pain in the ass. The other option is not fix it and buy another $500-600 figure. I would most certainly just try to fix it even it cause a lot of hassle. If it was my DX, I'd certainly rather risk it cause there's no way I'd pay that much now for a new DX. Besides, if you really screw up and tear the rubber, you could just glue everything back together and just be forced to do a more dramatic pose.

For the record, I had an ex who destroyed a fair chunk of my comic book collection when I wouldn't take her back (after she cheated). While the easy route would've just been to eat it and deal and move on, I didn't. I took her to small claims and she was appalled when she found out she'd stuck $1k worth of comics in the oven. I filed the court case, took pics of the evidence and waited until they called. The only thing I had to do, other than go to court and bring the damaged comics, was provide a current price guide showing the overall price of the damaged comics. Court awarded me the damages and while she was forced to pay me for the comics she damaged, the judge reminded her that she was still getting a break because she would've gone to jail, with a fine to pay when she got out as well as the restitution, if I'd called the police. People should face the consequences for their actions or they'll just continue repeating them.

That's Dorgmal's custom page... Mark (Dorgmal) is the finest maker of 1/6th custom action figures in all of Kent (and damn fantastic everywhere, really). On top of that he's about one of the nicest guys on this site. Enjoy his work... He might even be able to help you with your broken figures.

Yeah, you did do the smart thing NAM, if there's one thing I cant stand is a cheater so she definitely deserved it.
But with different circumstances, there's a lot of people that would rather just move on.
As I mentioned, everyone had a good advice. just chiming in my 2 cents.

She was a spoiled little _____ who'd had everything her way. I honestly think that was the first time things didn't go her way. She even had the nerve to backtalk the judge until he threatened to throw her in jail for contempt and fine her.

Good news is, a check from her father arrived 3 days later for the full amount and "sorry this happened" written in the memo.

Good to know if I ever have to go through it theres the option of doing that. I'm not majorly concerned right now but its in the background. If she ever feels the need to hurt me I'm sure she knows thats a surefire way to go about it....and cheating on me too would be pretty bad. But the toys....oh the toys

Probably a stupd question guys, but anyone have any idea which suit will likely last longer between the V1 and the DX?

I've had both and I know the V1 was a lot more flexible, not sure if that means it is a different material though.

It all depends on how you display them and if you got a DX that leaks.

I had both and sold both. Never had a problem with my DX leaking, but it was a constant worry which is why I moved it on. I've got the medi at the moment which I'm slowly modding, but I know Adam is planning on doing a TDK head sometime in the future so I'm thinking of getting the V1 again.

I don't want to buy it for the rubber to start deteriorating in two years time however. The rubber on the V1 feels a lot different to the rubber on the Original costume version too. I feel my OC has held up well so far.

Rubber will inevitably rot regardless. But as long as you don't pose the rubber suit in any stance where it is stressed, it should last for a long time.

Checked both of mine since this issue is part of discussion again. No oil leakage around the abs or under the shoulder pads on the bicep area. Hasn't happened to either yet *knock on wood* but I'm prepared if it does.

So atleast that isn't a problem.

However, my OC TDK suit still bothers me. It hasn't really changed but I still don't like that it's not as glossy as other people's. Mine has this non glossy, matte finish. It's "gray" but still black if that makes sense. There's probably nothing wrong with it but it still bugs me.

Regardless, I HATE rubber collectibles/toys. No matter how much care and precautions we take with these things we'll still come back to a mess eventually.

My two are the same Difabio. I think I would describe them exactly like you have. I dunno, it could be our imaginations that other people's figures are a deeper black and more glossy or maybe theres a layer of dust thats adhered to them. I just can't see how mine would be drying out faster than other people's given Irelands temperate climate, no extremes either way, unless the central heating in the house is doing it. I'll be trying out my compressed air tomorrow, gonna see what happens. I'm hoping it reveals a like-new deep black on the suit.

Hrm.. am I the only one that desires the OC to be a little more matte? His suit was not all glossy in the film, it was more matte and rubbery looking.

Regardless, I HATE rubber collectibles/toys. No matter how much care and precautions we take with these things we'll still come back to a mess eventually.

My white rubber Major Matt Mason just celebrated his 44th birthday and disagrees profoundly with that statement.

I'm very new to the Hot Toys world, and I've started looking around for this Batman for my new collection. After researching the product though, the oil issue seems to be common. What was the purpose of the oil in the first place? Does it actually seep out of pieces of the costume, or seep out of the seams?

After seeing how common this issue seems to be, and the current asking price, I'm considering waiting to see if HT gets the license for Dark Knight Rises and picking up that one, but with my luck it wouldn't be as nice.
