I kind of assumed that judging by the fact that Reeve was in the title of the video, but figured I'd point it out just in case. I went back and watched some of your other reviews as well; good stuff! :hi5:

Thanks bro! I add new ones all the time!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I get the difference between a MMS and a DX and all but when it comes to the Superman figure I really don't need moving eyes and extra stuff for him. I'd never use a Clark suit, It would just sit in the box, And moving eyes is nice but for Superman it's not essential to make him look good.

Hell even on the 89 Bats you can't see the direction the eyes are pointing unless you look real close and most of the time no one looks that close at the eyes. And there is no way you could use all the extra stuff that come with Bats at once so most of it just sits in the box. It's nice to have if you want to change the pose from time to time but again they are not essential. Hell half the extra stuff that comes with Bats isn't even in the movie. Throwing stars? A batarang with a rope? A bomb???? None of that is in the Batman movie.

IMO the DX label is just an excuse for HT to hike the price up by adding stuff you don't really need to make a cool figure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'd buy an extra body and have them both displayed just like I have the Superman Returns set both Clark and Sups displayed. When I had batman figures I had both Wayne in his suit and Batman displayed. The two look different enough for me to want to disay both

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

How about instead of moving eyes...they made a DX with laser eyes?

Actually it is...It is embedded in the vault door, which to me is awesome that HT did their homework and included almost all of Batman's "wonder toys" also for what we are paying for these figures why not include a boatload of "extras"?!?!

But they left out the Bolo-gun!!!!

I know right! They get stuff that almost no one sees, including myself until it was posted here, but to forget that a big :slap to HT for that...but I have to say they did a wonderful job searching all of the little details for this guy...when I started collecting I never thought I'd see an 89 Bats or Joker so I can't really complain, they got so much right aside from the bolo.

Vault door? What vault door? The one Jack cuts open before the cops show up? They cut that vault door open with a blowtorch.

I don't remember any other vault in the movie. :dunno

And what about the throwing stars and the batarang with a rope? Where are they in the 89 Bats movie? :dunno

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Vault door of where he keeps his Batsuits.

Bata-rang with a rope was like the first weapon he used in the movie when he takes out those 2 guys on the roof top and tells one "I want you to tell your friends about me..."

OK I stand corrected. :rotfl

I still stick by what I said about that stuff though. They are nice to have if you want to change the pose from time to time but they are not essential. Not for me anyway. If it meant paying $240 for a few extra gadgets or paying less without them I'd go for the figure by it's self because most of that extra stuff will just stay in the box never used. :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The fact is, though, that there are those that do use PERS and more accessories, just as there are those of us that would like a Kent figure on our shelves. Honestly, I think that the MMS release is spectacular, and I do agree with your statement that you really don't need all of the accessories to make a cool figure (I own the two 89 figures and Reeve Superman is still, hands down, my favorite). If they do decide to make a DX release, I don't think that they should bother competing with the MMS release, but rather, complementing it. Give fans the Kent gear, maybe a nice Metropolis dio, maybe create a more film accurate suit for Superman, and maybe give people an extra smiling Reeve head. They don't need to redo the Superman figure, they can complement it instead.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I think HT should give us the option, If you want to pay more for all that extra stuff then fine do it, but if you want to pay less and just get the figure by it's self then you should have that option too. I think the figure it's self should be the same whether you get the MMS or DX. It's the extra gadgets and the eye thing you are paying for anyway with the DX. If you don't want that extra stuff then you should have that option IMO.

Nothing but the figure is "essential" but are you complaining about a figure coming with too many extras??? Especially Batman, where he uses these weapons to his advantage since he doesn't have super powers? And if ur a fan of the 89 movie how could you not want these little extras??? It's one of the reasons Batman is so cool...kind of like Bond and his gadgets, plus DX's are pricier than the MMS releases, you should expect more, look at Jack Sparrow. Then again I'm probably trying to talk to someone who just got into the game so I should expect this type of argument.

:exactly::goodpost: and to your point PERS doesn't always work to bring a figure to "life" and can be hurtful at times. Correct me if I'm wrong but Supes was originally supposed to be a DX but was scrapped due to the PERS throwing off the likeness.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

If they had to give a DX PERS, I'd say give it to Clark (if they couldn't do it right, that is), as the glasses could probably obstruct it a bit, but for a DX, as I said, I'd like:
-more accurate Super suit
-Kato Clark gear
-Clark Kent HS
-Smiling/smirking Superman HS
-Metropolis Dio

To be honest, I think it'd be awesome if this one specialized in flight. As anyone who has the Superman figure knows, you can't really accomplish that classic "in flight" pose, could you imagine a smiling Reeve with an outerspace Dio and a flight stand?

I'm not "complaining", I'm giving my opinion.

In my opinion we should be giving the option to just buy the figure for a little less money than paying for stuff that we will never use and is just going to sit in a box forever never seen.

I have no problem with people wanting that stuff if that's what they want but I don't like the ideal of having to pay an extra $100 to $150 for stuff I will never use just to get the figure. I do it but I don't have to like it.

If I had my way HT and SS would have the option to buy a basic figure for something like $150 to $175. With that you would get the figure, the extra hands and a basic base to stand it on. For $150 to $200 more you could get the same figure but with the DX PERS head, Extra gadgets, extra suits and/or extra heads and a special base to set it on.

That way everybody wins. Those who can afford it and/or wants it can get the extras and those who can't afford it or don't want to pay the extra can still get the figure and HT sells much more of them.

It's just my opinion but that's how I feel. :D

But no 1/6 company provides this option in their figure sets. It sounds cost-effective for the consumer, but it isn't a sustainable strategy for the manufacturer. If you were a savvy basher you could probably manage to do exactly what you're describing anyhow.

the thing is, now even the most basic figures are pushing the $200 mark. The days of $150 HT figures is long gone.

I'd say if you really feel you only need the bare essentials, then maybe get your figures loose off eBay? it may come out cheaper that way for you.

Maybe that's why HT doesn't do it that way. they figuere for those that want everything can just go to eBay and get what they need
