Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure
Pretty sure I won the lottery last night....Let me tell you all a Story about Saturday, September 19th. It was a nice, cool day, my friends, wife, and I embarked on an epic journey from Chicago to Kokomo, Indiana in search of the fabled mecca of our people known as Kokomo Toys! Where they buy and sell Hot Toys and just about any other collectible you could ever want. On their Facebook page they had pictures of Chris Reeves Superman. He appeared to be in stock, along with several other figures my friends and I we're looking for. Alas, Kokomo's facebook page was not accurate and he had sold over a week ago! I was able to grab a Stormtrooper for Retail Price, so not a total loss, and we headed back to the Chicago area.
Once we returned to our area my friend suggested we go to Half Priced Books and scout their comic book TPB section like we usually do, a good idea considering most of us still had extra money leftover. So we went, and upon walking through the door and getting halfway to said graphic novel section, I hear a rushed friend yelling "BEARDED MAYHEM, BEARDED MAYHEM, BEARDED MAYHEM!!!!" (obviously he yelled my real name but come on, not going to just throw that out there). Anyway, I walked over towards my buddy thinking he had found something new to use in our never-ending battle of making fun of eachother only to see him pointing towards the top of a shelf, right behind the "Buying Counter" Where a box with an oddly familiar shape was turned ever so slightly away from us....I gasped, asked the man behind the counter if that box had a price and he went to grab a step-ladder, pulled the box down and sure enough, there it was...Chris Reeves Superman....Un-Opened, all plastic still covering him and taped properly in place......for $175. I immediately purchased him and brought him home, he is now proudly displayed on the top shelf of my Detolf and I could not be happier. My only possible complaint is that the cardboard triangles used to hold his box in a displayable manner are missing, other than that he is perfect and complete.
