I asked him about it about a year or two ago (maybe longer) if he'd make more and he said no b/c it was the hardest thing he'd ever done. Though now he's saying the BvS batman cape was the most difficult thing he's ever done so maybe he just says that as a general reason to not do more runs :lol can't blame him. he has no obligation to do any more than he wants to. One can dream though

the mattel movie masters 1/6 suit is a reasonable relatively cheap alternative imo ,more screen accurate and better integrated symbol ,longer sleeves ,soft non wired drape cape
when teamed with hot toys trunks belt and boots it gives a pleasing alternative to the hot toys suit .
crap picture alert :lol

Has anyone got a picture of the Mattel suit on the Hot Toys figure?

Bloody hell, the box for this thing. I thought it was the same size as a regular Hot Toy box just shaped as the superman crest and I figured I could just pop it in my bag on my way home. Needless to say I was surprised when I actually got it in hand.

This was the first figure I got back in 2011 and when I saw the box, I wondered if all Hot Toys came with this kind of packaging. Captain America in a Shield box, Iron Man in a Arc Reactor box, Batman in a Bat box, etc..

So glad that's not the case.

That is a sufficient solution. Is that the HT body, trunks and boots though? Biceps look too bulging to be the HT body. It's clearly not the HT sculpt at least.

He might of swapped the arms but the rest of the body (shorts and boots included) definitely looks to be the HT. Thanks for posting Libby! :hi5: might have to get one of those

thats what i took the picture of ,mattel bodysuit ,hot toys body ,trunks ,belt boots and a altered hottoys head sculpt :lol

no body alterations ,any difference is down to the cut and fit of the mattel suit

definitely worth considering and maybe searching out imo

For some reason the arms look bigger in the first picture... and the head sculpt threw me. Thanks for posting Libby

How has this figure stood the test of time? I'm considering picking on up (this or the DX09, really). Any common issues to be aware of?

I believe someone had an issue of the chest symbol starting to peal off, no issues with mine though.

No issues with mine either. Still love this figure as much as any of the more recent one's. The box is pretty awesome to.

I don't have the DX09 so can't really compare. I imagine this is much better when it comes to articulation though. :lol

Extremely well. The sculpt I think is still one of HT's best. This figure is still one of my more prized ones.

As mentioned, one issue seems to be the screen printed S glyph beginning to crack and/or peel. However, this only seems to be an issue with a select few people and doesn't seem to be something pervasive. Fortunately, like many others, mine is still perfectly intact.

Another issue I believe I recall seeing is the plastic insert hole inside of the sculpt where the neck peg attaches into, began to deteriorate and crack. However, as before, I recall only a few people reporting this (may have even been only one person, actually). Though if you have no reason to remove the sculpt and the sculpt turns and moves perfectly fine on the joint, this would be something that you'll never be privy of.

Do get this piece if you have the chance.

The one nit I have about this one is not in the figure itself. That part is perfect and has held up extremely well. The only problem I have is with the fortress diorama base. I'ts made of a soft plastic with a clear plastic rod that supports the figure in the flight pose. Over time the soft plastic in the base has given way and the rod leans forward due to the weight of the figure. I tried use a bushing to stabilize it, but eventually it started leaning again. I pretty much just use the crotch stand now.

Check out this sculpt of Reeve as supes...unbelievable!!

By the way, for anybody who lives in the San Diego, California area, there is an authentic Reeve-worn Superman costume on permanent display at the Hollywood Casino in Jamul, California. Specifically, it's in the restaurant inside the casino called Final Cut Grill. It's awesome to see it!!
