When did they move Hong Kong out of Japan? Must have taken a huge helicopter. Anyway, since they speak Chinese in both places, they're pretty much the same anyway. ;)

They have two. Toy Sapiens in Tokyo (much better and much bigger) then they have Toy Hunters in Hong Kong (really tiny and crowded).

I know because I have been to both.

Last comment was racist. :clap:rotfl

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

The wait is making people hostile!

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

Very impressive figure. But I'm not going to get this one because I don't have anyother HT figure of Nolan's trilogy (except Batman from Takara). And previous HT Begins, Dark Knight figures are so expensive.
I'll stay with HT Michael Keaton 1989 and HT Joker 1989 for now.

Not sure if serious..

If that was a joke it was pretty funny albeit racist. If it was serious that's like saying:

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

Now if we're talking tongue-in-cheek, I'd say they have a monopoly on superior quality. But that's just a funny way to say they're at the top of their game.

I don't think Spindrift meant it literally, perhaps wrong choice of words.
I wouldn't say HT is at the top of their game but they are definitely ahead of the game. I think what he meant was more of a cushion for them to work without deadlines due to lack of "direct" competition including raising prices or delaying scheduled releases. For example, lets say Enterbay was releasing a Selina Kyle TDKR at around spring release. I honestly would think HT would push to get their products out faster to ensure sales stay strong before giving time for the buyers to compare their competitors product. A perfect example is the cell phone wars between Samsung and Apple. Before Samsung started their success with their Galaxy - Apple never considered color variation gimmicks or even the thought of a lower and an affordable model. Their competition has forced them to make changes. Now they are in trouble as month by month stalled with delays.

Seriously, If I had the extra funds I would love to start a 1/6 figure company just for the sake of pushing HT to understand you snooze you lose rule in business.

How about calling my company:
HOT FREAKS - For the Freaks by the Freaks! or
Timely Toys - Passion to release on time! :wink1:

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

This release has soured my feelings about Hot Toys. Their wait times are ridiculous. They really need to be up front with Sideshow and tell them when the product is actually going to ship. Instead of giving them no info or making them push it back constantly each month, just say hey, this is delayed until November.

I cancelled Catwoman yesterday and am in the process of selling my Nolan HT collection. I'm tired of constant delays, ridiculous rising prices, constant do overs, missing key characters and overall declining quality.

From here on out the only Hot Toys items I will be buying are the ones from the Burton Batman films, and that is mainly because they are the only game in town other than NECA's 18 inch Batman, there isn't really much out there.

Naming no names... but.... I've noticed a lot of our newer members in the Iron Man/Marvel section have become quite aggressive with each other, it seems they have now started to drift into other threads expecting to get the same treatment. I hope this is a short term Iron Man 3 phenomena, and they take their aggressive smart assed behaviour away again....

Just go over to the Iron Man BD Mark VII thread to see what I mean..
:lol

This is a fitting example of how sarcasm can be EXTREMELY hard to pull off on the interwebz.

And it seems that pixelpiper it well versed in the art form.:clap

I'm not starting anything and absolutley nothing personal, but if you don't like waiting, I think that Burton Batman by Hot Toys isn't exactly the best place to start.:dunno

"Batman Returns" line anyone???:impatient::impatient::impatient:

Also, as much as I do complain about Hot Toys and their ridiculous delays, they are making mass produced works of art masquerading as toys.
That sort of thing can't be rushed if you want a good final product.

I really only take exception with their ridiculously, overly optimistic release dates. I frankly believe little of what they say release-wise until I've at least seen the packaging for what ever figure in question.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

Me too. I told my wife that due to the delay, I have to wait another month before I can officially say I collect dollies.

Re: Hot Toys MMS188 The Dark Knight Rises: Selina Kyle/Catwoman Figure Full Specs & P

I guess the wink smiley didn't help. I have friends from at least half a dozen countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan and China, and appreciate the variety of their remarkable cultural and linguistic differences.

Having been involved in manufacturing businesses since 1996, I'm used to seeing delays creep up into projects. There are simply too many factors that can compound to such a problem that to say it's based on a supposed arrogant or apathetic Hot Toys behavior is very naive. The sheer number of product lines Hot Toys are now working with means they have to control their supply chain and finished goods inventory with incredible precision to keep things rolling smoothly. If they happen to share factory time/space with other companies lines that only adds more variables they can't control to the situation and in every possible case this is again compounded by their rapid growth rate.

People get passionate about their toys and let their passion rule their brains. Judging by the quality of Hot Toys products I strongly believe everyone at their organization is also very passionate, but at the end of the day, it's a business like any other, and fans should try to keep that in mind. Canceling an order because of a delay is completely understandable, but swearing off a company and unloading an entire series seems a little impetuous if this is truly a hobby for the buyer and not part of their own business.

I'll put up with just about anything for collectibles from 1989 Batman or Batman Returns. Even all of the crap Hot Toys subjects it's customers to.

My 89 Batman figure was delayed, My Joker was delayed, my Batmobile is delayed just like I am sure Mime Joker will be delayed. At the very least, Hot Toys has not put up any solicitations for Batman Returns so I can't get angry about delays.

The problem is they are rushing and still taking forever anyways. Why put preorders up for something you know isn't going to be released for 18 months anyway?
