The way I see it, this forum in general needs different rules than most when it comes to going off-topic. Hot Toys and Sideshow give us so much idle time and we all know idle minds are the devil's plaything.
I find it odd that no one ever explained the art of under-promising and over-delivering to a certain company in Hong Kong. Give us ridiculously long estimated release dates and then adjust it by a few months.
Just GET REAL about release dates. That seems too much to ask.

I totally agree on making deadlines.
Seriously there is no art but one simple truth. Hot Toys has no real threat or competitors to really push them in either price or schedule such as Samsung to Apple. Enterbay? phffff Passion for Procrastination is more their slogan which allows HT to over promise and under deliver without any worry where the collectors money will go.

Take SSC's new Vader for instance. They should have continued to tease behind the scenes and put it up for pre-order in October/November when everyone is thinking about spending big bucks on holiday shopping anyway.

I agree. They have no one legitimate around to keep them honest or call them on their crap. Medicom or Enterbay are merely runners-up.
I do love Hot Toys figures and how they've raised the bar for high-end figures, but damned if they aren't a bit infuriating to me. Don't even tease something until it's 50% complete at least!

As for Selina Kyle. Don't bother to check for your flex pay charges or await any news or emails from SSC. SSC is just throwing dates around covering HTs constant delays. If HK doesn't have it, the rest of the world definitely doesn't have it. Until I see a picture of it selling in HK, it is plus 1.5-2 months before SSC starts shipping. Happened with BabyDoll and will happen to Selina.
Better if SSC just sends us an email saying - Release Date for your Preorder Selina Kyle/Catwoman: Unknown but possibly sometime this year depending on HT's schedule. We are constantly waiting as much as you are - thank you for your patience.

That's my exact experience as well with Black Widow. It went from 12/10/12 to 1/10/13 to 2/10/13, you can tell they are bogus dates. Finally they gave me 3/25/13 which is the real date that that can ship upon. So my Mark VII just went from 6/5/13 to 7/5/13 and my 89 Batmobile went from 6/15/13 to 7/15/13 (from originally 5/15/13). I fully expect both them to move again. I now expect Mark VII to be late July or early August and 89 Batmobile to be early to mid August. since I ordered Ms. Kyle from BBTS...she will come in September or later...*sigh*
They are doing the "Reversal Miracle Worker", they are really multiplying their supply estimates by a factor (not by 4 I hope)!!!!

Not defending SSC as the best company ever. I know they have their issues sometimes. All companies do. But this really is out of their hands. HT is the manufacturer. SSC is the distributor. We will get it when they get it and they will get it when HT sends it.
Also, they don't have any of my money yet. You don't have to "FlexPay." If you pay the whole price at one time, it's not charged until it's shipped. That's the way to go. You might be new to this collecting thing, but these releases are ALWAYS delayed. The day they are announced, start putting money aside and pay all at once. That way, they won't have any money down and you can cancel hassle free up until the day it's shipped if you need to.

Is this typical for Sideshow? This is my first preorder with them and so far I am not really impressed. This figure was supposed to be available in March, and has been delayed multiple times. I think it's more irritating this time as we do not find out until the last minute. Presumably they have known it wasn't ready to ship this week and would be delayed n additional month for more than a day or so before it was supposed to ship.
It would be one thing if they didn't require prepayments, but they are sitting on $ and not being terribly transparent about what is going on.
Here is hoping for next month....though at this point, I'm not going to get excited and count on it, yet again.
