Well, for those of us who DO want it... Any idea when SS will list this?

Sallah

People are not cynical.
Angry annoyed let down and unimpressed.
If you and your wife are happy then great but others are not and rightly so venting their opinion.

If anyone says anything negative people are quick to silence them.
Why is that?
This is a free forum isn’t it?
Thats the only cynical thing that crosses my mind.

Yes those elements are coming through really very strongly indeed.

Besides which...How exactly have I tried to silence anybody, so by association...you? That would be both silly and pointless. You have your opinion and that's just fine...as it should be. You have expressed it with no interference from me whatsoever :dunno

Do I agree with it? No, obviously. But that is just fine and dandy too.

Therefore, free forum, so I stand by my opinion that we will not be alone in liking or indeed buying this figure.

No-one is saying that if you don't like a figure/accessory or vehicle etc that it's wrong to say so.
But if you feel the need to make the entire thread your own by saying how much you dislike the figure over and over and over as though somehow, the manufacturer owes you something else, then i have to say this:

Ono cyber bully help:lol

Seriously though not trolling here just pationate about superman.
My gripe is with hot toys.
And as for hogging threads you do plenty on the other superman thread;)
Made my point about the sculpt back then and left it alone.

Not saying you or your friend above have a vested intetest with hot toys but negative feedback is not appreciated by retailers and producers.
I won’t keep on but would genuily like to know who else will buy or not.

I figure this figure will do well anyway due to completists and scalpers but would hope hot toys would listin to their customers and address issuses raised.
Don’t see it but you never know:)

Not trying to bully. I just don't see the point of posting several times saying the same thing.
Only an observation, and not meant in any mean way.
I will be buying two as soon as i can get an order placed. One for me, and one for my Brother.
It's quite different from the original one, and close enough to the intended character for my tastes. YMMV.
What a lot of people forget is that any character with clothing is a lot harder to pump copies out than people realise.
Iron Man armours are just painted plastic parts from a mould. Mould the parts, snip them off the sprues, paint them and put them together. Likely it could be done by unskilled labour on a production line.
But making a CR Superman outfit(Or any HT Garment), is not so easy. And EACH ONE has to be hand tailored. Each Cape needs to have that wire strung through it.
Okay, fair enough, they could have changed the sculpt, but that horrid scowl isn't on his face the whole time, and(And you nay-sayers out there), a lot of the custom Evil Superman figures used as reference have the original HT sculpt used just with extreme paint.
I'd put it to anyone who says that HT didn't go far enough with this one.
Couldn't you then take this figure and go a little further on it yourself? To have something you can say you added to and customised yourself?
5 minutes with an airbrush will give him better 5 o clock shadow.

Happy to those who do want this figure but personally I can't really see the difference at all. :lol I'm more interested in that base.

@barry only messing I know you aint a bully;)
as for each outfit being handmade I don’t know, but minimul skill would be
required on a production line style set up to piece it together.
The sculpt is the main issue and yes the other customs with the elvis exception have used the regular sculpt.
Yes people can touch it up and make it better but they shouldn’t have to.
Should have made a new sculpt.
That shows a lack of effort and taking short cuts again.
They could have dropped a few jaws with a really good likeness or even modded the original with a resculpt.
Thats what got me interested in1/6 and hot toys were the leaders in the field at that time. Now not so much.
Just a buisness no passion or eye for detail.
I like others can’t throw away money willy nilly and won’t for this.

You buy as many as you want mate post as many pics still don’t change the truth.

Just because more people like it don’t mean a thing.

Erm, yes it does I am afraid and just because you'd rather stick your fingers in your ears and hum really loudly when folks say so, will not change it. Disrespectful to Chris and Dana Reeve...? A ludicrous statement in itself...how so? Because you don't like the sculpt....poster Please!

Seriously genuine questions.....

If not HT at the top '...now not so much' particularly after the kind of past 2 years that HT have been having with (love them or loath them, endless) Iron Man, DKR and Avengers figures being knocked out of the park on a regular basis....then Who?

Secondly, and I know that Barry is more than capable of speaking for himself so I am reacting as if it were aimed at me, how exactly do you think a person would react to, as you put it, changning the truth? Changing it into what, precisely...something other than the truth? Well what could that be I wonder?

You hide behind :lol and :rotfl and a good few ;) for good measure but your passive aggressive writing is like a signal flare. Done with pointlessly feeding this line of redundant non-reasoning.

My wife's Superman III (Evil) leaves Hong Kong tomorrow

Ok no smilies or winks jesus:slap
Not gunna keep repeating myself.
The sculpt aint chris reeve Imo.
That to me is disrespectfull.
Hot toys are number1 for now and probabley will stay there but other companies are making figures and doing a good job if not better in some cases.

Not saying I wont buy another hot toys figure but they arnt doing a lot that interests me.
As for being passive aggressive and sticking my fingers in my ears you are doing the same thing.
We dont agree fine aint gunna lose sleep about it.
My problem is with hot toys
You have said the figure isnt perfecrt yourself so really dont get your point.
Hope your wife likes the figure.

I think if you already bought the non-evil version, then it's not really worth picking it up with the minimal changes. But in my case, I would probably buy it because I don't own a superman figure currently.

hey guys. first post here. I personally will be buying as im a huge superman fan. I like the figure but would have been more awesome if like many of u think he had an alternate ( angry head) as for the base it looks nice but wouldn't a junk yard scene from the film make more sense

How is it made if not by hand?

Thats what got me interested in1/6 and hot toys were the leaders in the field at that time. Now not so much.

Who does it better than HT?
And on such a scale?

Just a buisness no passion or eye for detail.

It's always been a business.
And for every figure you don't like, i am sure there are a couple you do.

I like others can’t throw away money willy nilly and won’t for this.

Are you suggesting i am "throwing money away willy nilly" if i buy two?

You buy as many as you want mate post as many pics still don’t change the truth.

The "truth" cannot be applied here.
We are talking merely about opinion. And that cannot be spoken about in terms of true and untrue(Unless you say you hate it but actually like it, in which case, you'd not be telling the truth).
I like this one.
That's the truth.
You don't like it. That is also true. And there's nothing wrong with that.
But it seems to be making you try and prove a point and there's none to be made. I don't require you to like what i like. It's all about what speaks to you.
Loads of people like the look of this.
All about opinion.
We know you don't like it.
And it's fair enough. We are all going to have different opinions on a varied amount of topics.
What's to be gained at keeping on telling us you don't like it over an over?
Just a question. No malice intended. Don't read it as a challenge. My posts are not meant to be read like that.
I'm just curious what the thinking is.

This is such a easy pass. Good luck to anyone ordering it since it might end up having the giant list of QC issues the original did.

As Superman is my all-time favorite superhero, I'm shocked and impressed we're just getting another figure from the classic series, let alone SUPERMAN III of all films.

The awesome base and darker colors look like enough of a contrast from the original figure. Funny how people are saying it looks identical to the original when there are no side by side, in-hand pics (as far as I know.)

Definitely a must-buy from me. Then maybe we can get a Hackman Luthor or Stamp Zod at some point.

How is it made if not by hand?

Yes it's "hand made" on an assembly line as is iron man as you said.
Each part/piece can be broken up into a non skilled process.

Who does it better than HT?
And on such a scale?
Blitzway enterbay, are strong competion.
I am just saying there are other companies and customisers filling the void that hot toys are slacking on, by doing iron man and the like to death.
They have bad customer service as I have read and don't seem to have any new ideas.

It's always been a business.
And for every figure you don't like, i am sure there are a couple you do.

Lately no and ones I do not enough to spend on.
I liked the tron lightcycle but the sculpt again was off maybe it was fixed not sure.

Are you suggesting i am "throwing money away willy nilly" if i buy two?
No to you it is worth the money, fair play buy as many as you want, but for me it has to be perfect or something that interests me to shell out the money.

Not trying to prove a point just answering questions or differences of opinion directed at me.

Ok maybe "the truth" is as you say my opinion and the wrong wording but as I see it and many others have aswell it ain't right.

I was apparentley in the mionority of people that don't like it.:dunno
I just feel that people will only voice their true opinion sometimes if they feel they can, without being shot down or ridiculed.
I felt a bit of that coming my way, so will fight my corner if I feel passionate that something is wrong.
I don't really bother usually and stick to the customs sections and let people get on with it but this has got me angry (with hot toys)
Base is wrong, sculpt is wrong imo and hot toys are just slacking again imo.

No worries mate I'll make my own perfect version of evil superman, one way or another and repost pics, but for now I'm done with this and will leave it for others to debate.
:peace and enjoy the figure;)

Happy to those who do want this figure but personally I can't really see the difference at all. :lol I'm more interested in that base.

Cape and boots look more maroon in this shot but the minimalist paint to the recycled sculpt just doesn't suggest that he's evil. Also the base would have been better with the tires or conveyor belt.
