Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

When is the Paypal "D-Day" for those that pre-ordered directly from M8?

I want to make sure I check out this thread that week...

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Ironic how people will complain about lack of updates in every other figure thread, and here is Molecule8 showing their progress, and no one believes them.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Sure sounds like an underfunded start up, using a headsculpt to raise PO cash before developing a prototype figure.

Pretty shabby if you ask me as all these rendering SHOULD HAVE been part of their development campaign, then when ready, show the Proto/pics with a PO. This is bass ackwards.

Out of the gate they said they would show a complete proto within a week. It wasn't a misunderstanding it was simply a lie.

Exactly.

The idea that in a few weeks they are going to hand you something 'revolutionary' is a pipedream and a salesman's pitch. Revolutionary takes years of development... which they clearly haven't been doing.

The super endo-skeleton they claimed would be under the skin should have been a major tip-off for just about anyone that something's just not right here...

And it ain't like several people here didn't warn you all about the suspicious background of this company well in advanced of POs and fancy promises.

Yes, and even when it was questioned they continued to claim it up until the very end. To me, that's shady.

Agreed.

Shady as they are I think we will see a final piece.

The question is if they are comfortable using deceptive practices to get the start up going....how comfortable will they be giving all the pre orders a figure that's out of proportion , bad paint apps, cheap extras?? If they give a great final everyone might forget the shady start.

It's really all in their hands...

Bet they have nowhere near the kickstart money to go into production- so they will keep stringing us along month after month...

What's the suspicious background? I didn't hear about about..

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I've said it before, but this has a lot of parallels with the Creepshow fiasco from Shrunken Head Studios... but in their case they did have a prototype figure.

What M8 currently has would barely be be enough to show at a convention let alone how they had pretty much nothing when the started aside from the painted sculpt. While the sculpt is brilliant, a great sculpt and paint are probably the easiest things to get right if you've hired the right people. Developing a new body, testing it for QC issues, figuring out how to mass produce it, then adjusting for QC issues in mass production... there's a lot.

This figure doesn't seem to be even close to being sent to the factory, yet they've already collected the money? Seems like a bad idea all around and while they may come through and everyone will get a great figure this is still not a great way to conduct business. And I'm sure it's cost them quite a few sales already.
