But Sideshow freaks has become a right little hate pit hasn't it and there's far too many little boys (no girls) here taking way too much pleasure in thinking the absolute worst and just running with that.

Exactly. It's the "tee hee " band wagoners that I couldn't stand. Not the people voicing an honest opinion/reservation. I was hoping for the best. I gave M8 the benefit of the doubt for as long as I could.

There's only so far you can go on thinking you are the cool one...on toy forum.... that is populated only by dudes...many of which are over 35 and should probably know better.

So many dudes here (as there are no girls) get pleasure from being very negative. Ya try to be positive you get labeled a 'defender'. Folks ask you for your opinion, you give it, you are called a defender. You have nothing more to say as folks don't want to listen to what you have to say, you are accused of 'strangely going all silent'.

I figure M8 are just squarely focused on getting the damn thing done and done well. If not they fail. No company wants to fail but some here will not accept this far out notion.

I agree. There is no point in even being a defender anymore when there is so much negativity attached. I think that many of the people who are fanning the flames here did not even actually order the figure.

When it comes to this company it is plain and simple. File a paypal dispute and you absolutely will get your money back... no harm done to you at all. People keep beating the same dead horse over and over an I do not see what the point is. At this point M8 is clearly revising and changing things. Will it deliver in the original timeframe? No! Of course it won't, but a little bit of patience goes a long way in this hobby.

Well it turns out that maturity and adulthood may in fact only be measured by one's level of supportiveness on the Internet for some shady unknown company...I predict that it is simply a matter of time before some start blaming "trolls" on this thread for M8's eventual implosion. "M8 reads the thread too and lost their confidence when they heard how cruel those teenage girls were being to them." "If only the chatter had been more positive...M8 would have made a better figure..."

You are placing a of power into you own hands there. You don't have that much power dude. None if us do. But that is what you guys think isn't it? You do think companies hang on your every word and they just don't. They will take some bit of feedback sure, but not to the level you might think. And because many here say stupid things, it actually undermines and reduces any credibility you might have. Companies may listen to constructive criticism and but not hysterical, conspiracy theorising rants.

You read that all wrong. He's clearly stating a hypothetical in which M8 supporters use the negative comments as an excuse. He's not claiming anyone has sway over the company.

Thanks for catching it...I was being completely facetious to make the point that it is ridiculous that supporters of M8 seem to become so vein poppingly enraged when anyone says anything negative about M8...because since folks on this board obviously have little to no influence over these companies it is really not worth getting upset about their opinions.

My advice to anyone in this position would be to spend (or not spend) your money however you like and if the opinions of people you do not know on the Internet make you feel that you should not spend money on something that you want then you have bigger problems...

A lot can happen, sure. But what are the scenarios here that we are faced with?

1) M8 premiere their work at a con. The Lennon has a very soft sculpt, ill fitting clothes, and clunky glasses. If it's a prototype they are no where near production. No way this comes out before the paypal deadline.

Either way it's a gamble.

Scenario 3) M8 see the reaction here, go back to the drawing board, and produce something awesome which is shipped out somewhere around Q3 2018.

I'll take scenario 3 at this point.

I think it's less about negative comments and more about what was shown at the con. When you put out a display like the one at ACGHK it speaks volumes to the consumers and those consumers scatter like mice.

I have no stake in this one way or the other but I agree that the tone of late has become pretty negative across the entire board. Only interest I have in this thread is seeing possibilities of a new way of making figures but I will say I have had my doubts from the start. I check everyday to see if I've been proven wrong. Nothing yet.

That's fine as an opinion Eamon, but the hard fact is that Amstel is still waiting for his refund of $300 which he should have had moments after requesting it. That's not just a large sum of money that's stress, that''s the depressing feeling of being ripped off and having his trust betrayed - after all he sent the money as a gift, which would mean no fees for them. If I was him I would have contacted the police weeks ago. I'm sorry, but you've got no right to label people as negative when M8 do things like this. This thread is just people looking out for each other.

No one's labelled you a gullible prat or a shill poster, it would be respectful of you to cut out the insults from now on.

Well two things there, This is not a "thread for people looking out for each other" at all. It's a hate farm with little or no kindness that I can see.
The second is that folks have labeled me a lot if things despite them actually asking me to come in here and give my opinion to then it's described as me jumping to defend M8. That's special that. But you can say that I have not being labeled all you like but that statement will always be false.
Some here are so petty that they will not even refer to The Hottoycast whom M8 had their interview on by name and go out of their way not to call it by name and instead just call it "that podcast'. Now I don't really mind that but again it's espically childish and if you think people like that should be taken seriously, then have at it dude. I will not.
